Fla. man, Knicks fan
So many people are criticizing President Trump for planning to attend one of the NBA Finals games (“First Fan hoops it up for Knicks,” May 28).
Just because he moved to Florida doesn’t mean he’s given up rooting for the Knicks or the Yankees.
I wonder what these people with Trump Derangement Syndrome would say if the Chicago White Sox were in the World Series and Pope Leo decided to attend their games.

Congress’ games
A heartfelt congratulations to all of the members of Congress who decided, instead of trying to provide relief to the American people during these tough economic times, to debate how to control the NCAA (“Senate bill takes aim at NCAA chaos,” Sports, May 28).
Who cares? We are in need of health-care reform, educational reforms and more jobs. Obviously, these pale in comparison to controlling the NCAA and eligibility rules.

NY goes socialist
Tax-and-spend, criminal-coddling Democrats continue to assault the American people (“Welcome to the $ocialist state,” May 27).
Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger has implemented dozens of new taxes affecting everyone. Similar actions are manifesting in New Jersey with Gov. Mikie Sherrill. Now, Gov. Hochul along with Mayor Mamdani, are following suit.
Dems raise taxes, protect felons and spend billions on illegal immigrants, yet they point the finger at everyone but themselves for the problems they create. Hypocrisy is the Dems’ metier as their mantra remains: Campaign as a centrist but govern as a Jacobin radical.

Now Cuomo talks
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo called out the Dems for letting former President Joe Biden run for re-election again (“Cuo rips Dems for Joe’s run,” May 26).
Where were you in real time, Cuomo? Now you’re finally finding your voice. It’s never been about doing right by New Yorkers, but retaining your own power. When you’re ruminating on the past, start with your own words and deeds.

DSA’s intolerance
The ferocious response of Democratic Socialist Councilwoman Shahana Hanif to two moderate Muslims — who oppose Mayor Mamdani’s extremist views regarding Israel and the Jewish people — illustrates a core truth about the “Democratic” Socialists of America: They’re not democratic; there’s no tolerance of views that differ from the party line (“Rage at pro-Israel Muslims,” May 27).
Kudos to these courageous Muslim women, Anila Ali and Zeba Zebunnesa, for showing how fundamentally anti-American the authoritarian socialists are and how obsessively they target Jews and Israel. Hopefully, they can help create a permission structure for more moderate Muslims to speak out.

What a drag
It was very disturbing to read how Rep. Dan Goldman and former city Comptroller Brad Lander are trying to see who will push harder to have “drag queen story hour” in their district (“Pols ‘draggin’ for dollars,” May 26).
Notwithstanding the potential confusion and damage such programs can do to toddlers and young children, why are such programs necessary?
