Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 18 Recap

Welcome back one last time, Below Deck Down Under fans. Last week ended on yet another cliffhanger, leaving João, Daisy, Jenna, and Alesia ticked off at Ben. This season was supposed to be a solid one, with three experienced Heads of Departments. Will these HODs finally make peace on BDDU Season 4 Episode 18? Let’s find out.

What happened in Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 18?

Captain Jason calls his HODs together, giving them a stern talking to ahead of their final charter. Speaking of, one of their incoming guests almost got kicked off the yacht in Season 2. And this season, he is giving Ben and Ellie nothing but stress in the galley. After he and his pals depart, the crew says their final goodbyes, bringing an end to BDDU Season 4.

After João debriefs Daisy, she sasses a line worthy of a standing ovation. “Next time [Ben] goes and makes dinner for the charter guests, I’ll go in and eat it. Just tell him to remake it.” Shockingly, Ellie tells Barbie she “would have been pissed as well.”

Ben and João text Captain Jason. But their texts have slightly different retellings. Ben types, “Hey Jason, letting you know that Daisy tried to come at me tonight, so I put myself in a guest bedroom to stay out of the situation.” Meanwhile, João says, “Cap-I confronted Ben about sleeping in an already-made guest cabin & it didn’t go well. We should talk tomorrow.”

In the morning, Captain Jason asks Ben what happened. “At dinner, Daisy … she yelled at me,” Ben says. “Also, I was awoken. They were sniffing around, looking for drama and bullsh*t, in my opinion.”

“You can see why they got riled up,” Captain Jason thankfully says. “They got a 24-hour turnover, and you’ve been sleeping in the bed. Just cop it on the chin,” he says. Ben answers, “Okay.”

João and Daisy give Captain Jason a better retelling of the events, as Ben heads to the galley. AGAIN, Ellie remains on the right side of history, telling a whining Ben, “You and I would have been pissed as well if we had prepped the galley for a charter and somebody came in here and cooked and left all their sh*t.” Even so, Ben argues, he would not “have started a World War over it.”

I’m not buying that. Regardless, Captain Jason calls his HODs together and demands, “Enough’s enough.” Once again, he calls them all out, including Ben for messing up a guest cabin, and then he asks them to “reset” for their final charter.

The galley struggles

Ben apologizes to João and, later, to Daisy. Daisy holds him to the fire on several issues. Ben apologizes again, and they laugh, but then João hysterically pops out of the bathroom, joking that Ellie was also in the bathroom, creeping on their chat (she wasn’t).

But she is waiting for Ben in the galley, wondering why he never promoted her. You still need to “prove” herself, he says. Finally, the last charter guests board. Ben chats with Brandon, the returning Primary, and Patrick, one of his guests, and immediately realizes they are “picky.”

He’s right. Lunch has “too many vegetables.” And even though Brandon asked for seafood, which Ben prepared, it still wasn’t what Brandon “was expecting.”

Brandon is “a pain in the butt,” Captain Jason says. Then, Captain Jason narrates a long list of activities and food items Brandon wants, including ten individual cakes at dinner. Ben smartly orders those instead.

In the morning, Ben makes Brandon a bagel, and Ellie calls for the interior to deliver it, but her walkie-talkie transmits only static. Twenty-five minutes pass, so Ellie calls again. Captain Jason radios back, saying her words are inaudible. Daisy goes down to the galley in a huff, and Ellie immediately blames her for not listening to her radio.

Daisy tells Ellie that she could have walked it up, and no, you did not call us. Later, Ben prepares a seven-course dinner, but Patrick hates everything, so Ben makes him a few basic dishes instead. The guests dislike the timing of Pat’s dishes, and Pat despises chunky peanut butter, but everything else works out. Finally, the guests go to bed, leaving a frustrated Ben in their wake.

Goodbye, BDDU Season 4 crew

Captain Jason lets João dock the yacht, and then Daisy heads to the wheelhouse. She wants to give Jenna back her stripe. Captain Jason allows it, since Jenna never stopped working hard after her punishment.

Jenna almost cries, and then she heads back to her former position on the dock to say goodbye to their guests. Yes, Ellie rolls her eyes. At least their guests are thrilled. They leave the crew a massive $34,500 tip, bringing their total tips made this season to $235,700.

The crew heads to a bar, and here, the season-stealing Betul makes a heartwarming speech, thanking Captain Jason and João for their support. Later, Alesia makes a beautiful speech of her own, apologizing to Jenna for her actions this season.

The next morning, Betul leaves first. Afterward, Jenna asks Alesia to co-parent their gay-pride plushie, and Ben pays Ellie her $17 out of their honey pot. He also gives her his knife, and then, one by one, everyone leaves the yacht, happy and bonded, almost as if zero drama ever transpired this season.

Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock.
