Bob Odenkirk reprised his role as Saul Goodman for a PSA ad for America’s 250th anniversary. Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks play their Better Call Saul characters in a hilarious, satirical ad. Notably, he last played the character four years ago during the series finale in 2022.
Bob Odenkirk returns as Saul Goodman for PSA ad
Bob Odenkirk is back as Saul Goodman for a new PSA ad for America’s 250th anniversary. In a new funny ad, Odenkirk revives his role as Goodman from Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. In the ad, the shady lawyer reminds people of their rights, which is approved by Jonathan Banks’ Mike Ehrmantraut.
Odenkirk can be seen dressed in a coral suit with the U.S. Constitution behind him as wallpaper. The actor remarked, “Hi, I’m Saul Goodman. Did you know you have rights? Well, you do. Sure, they’re old timey. They were written by a bunch of guys in powdered wigs and knee socks. Boring, but believe it or not, they’re still surprisingly relevant.”
The 63-year-old actor begins listing people’s rights as stated by the constitution, with words flashing on screen in quick succession. Towards the end, Odenkirk looks at the camera and pleads: “Know your rights, and for the love of Mike, don’t ever give ’em up.” The next instant, Banks appears on camera and deadpans at the camera: “I’m Mike, and I approve this message.”
Interestingly, there is no clarity behind the intention of making this video. There is no brand name or service attached to the PSA as well. However, Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould shared the clip on BlueSky and confirmed that it is real (via Entertainment Weekly).
Fans were ecstatic to witness their favorite TV characters on screen. One fan shared the iconic Martin Scorsese meme and exclaimed, “Me after seeing the return of the GOATs Mike and Saul Goodman.” A second fan commented, “I NEVER THOUGHT WE’D SEE THE SUIT AGAIN. A literal national treasure. Seeing him back as Saul Goodman just cured my soul. Best TV character ever created, no competition.”
