Jenna Bush Hager is secretly plotting a career upgrade, claims source

Sources told RadarOnline.com that Jenna Bush Hager is taking an important step in her career through Today. Insiders told the outlet that Hager has grown in prominence, emerging as a significant part of the Today franchise.

Executives reportedly trust her because she handles things carefully and keeps away from public conflict. However, according to the sources, Hager is aware that power lies in the hands of co-host Savannah Guthrie. “Savannah is the most important person at NBC News – and Jenna is her best friend. That relationship changed everything,” an insider stated.

Sources shared that the duo maintain a tight alliance and protect each other while smartly pushing aside rivals. Additionally, Hager’s growing influence allegedly occurred at the same time as Hoda Kotb’s exit from Today.

“Jenna acts harmless, but she is incredibly savvy,” a source said. They further explained, “She knows how to charm executives, stay close to power, and slowly position herself exactly where she wants to be.”

For the unversed, Hager has also turned executive producer of NBC’s upcoming drama, Protection. She discussed the project with Today’s co-host Sheinelle Jones. “It’s about different levels of law enforcement, some based on Secret Service,” Hager stated (via NBC).

The 44-year-old further explained, “So, we’re hopefully going to start shooting this spring, cross your fingers, y’all. I’m so excited.” Moreover, the journalist revealed that she was part of the pitch process. “I joined all the pitches because every time, to watch these sometimes jaded executives’—not all of you, not all of you—faces drop with the twist. The twist is so good,” Hager shared.
