Massive theme park loved by Brits opens 2 brand new attractions | Europe | Travel

Spain’s largest theme park, loved by Brits, is opening its second large family attraction in its own zone in the park. PortAventura also has a Caribbean-themed waterpark, Caribe Aquatic Park.

Coral Bay will mark the newest zone in the park. The pirate-themed 6,000m2 area will include the watercoaster Cyclone, the second of its kind in the world and the first to open in Europe. There will also be Bahia Pirata, which it claims is the “world’s first multi-adventure pool”. A multi-slide tower called the Crab will let riders choose five different routes, while Splash Port will be a water splash zone for younger kids.

El Bucanero will serve as the park’s new food and drink spot, offering visitors a range of refreshments and light bites.

The development is not limited to a new water attraction. Guests will also be able to explore a brand-new adventure area, Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek.

The attraction will transform the existing Polynesia section into a tropical-themed zone inspired by lush jungle landscapes.

Stretching 135 meters, the open-air course will feature a series of climbing challenges and structures modeled on volcanic rock formations.

For all ages, the 18 treehouse cabins will have everything from rope tunnels and net ladders to slides. Both are set to open this summer.

One mum who recently visited reported to the Sun Travel: “Even my too-cool-for-school teens were wowed.

“While the big thrill rides understandably grab the headlines, younger families are well provided for with a huge schedule of themed entertainment shows at the park, tea cup rides, log flumes, and mini rollercoasters.”
