Shakira’s Second US Run Hits Los Angeles as the World Cup Opens

Shakira confirmed her Los Angeles concert dates for June 13 and 14 on Instagram Monday. The timing drops the shows right into the opening week of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

She made the connection explicit. “How incredible to be on my 2nd US run, same week the World Cup begins,” she wrote. “See you all in LA on June 13th and 14th!” The caption closed with “Dai Dai Ikó Dale Allez Let’s Go!” The cheer spans multiple languages in one line. A soccer ball and wolf emoji followed.

The update drew more than 383,000 likes.

Shakira is one of Colombia’s most recognizable cultural exports and one of the best-selling Latin artists of all time. She holds multiple Grammy awards across both Spanish and English-language work. Her recording career spans more than two decades.

Her connection to the World Cup goes back to 2010. She performed the official song for that year’s tournament in South Africa, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).” It’s one of the most-played anthems in the competition’s history. She also contributed music tied to the 2014 Brazil tournament. Few musicians have that kind of repeated association with the event.

The 2026 World Cup is co-hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It’s the first time the US has served as a host nation since 1994. The edition is also the first to feature 48 national teams, up from the previous 32. Opening matches kick off June 11. Shakira’s LA shows on June 13 and 14 fall inside the tournament’s first full weekend.

Los Angeles is one of the 2026 host cities. Group-stage and knockout-round matches are scheduled at SoFi Stadium. Her concert dates put her in the same city. World Cup action will be underway at the same time.

This is her second US tour run of 2026. Her first leg wrapped earlier in the year. The June dates continue that stretch, with LA as the headline stop.

Support acts and full setlist details for the June shows haven’t been publicly confirmed. Shakira’s most recent studio album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” dropped in March 2024. It’s been central to her live sets since then. The wolf emoji in her caption connects to the album’s visual identity.

Shakira’s El Dorado World Tour in 2018 was her last extended North American run. Her two US stints this year represent her most sustained presence in the market in nearly eight years.
