New color-matching hubs & accessories for MacBook Neo

Satechi is giving MacBook Neo owners a color-matching way to add the ports Apple left out with a new lineup of accessories built around the laptop’s distinctive design.

Satechi expanded the MacBook Neo’s limited connectivity on July 14 with three color-matched accessories, including two USB-C hubs and a wireless mouse available in Citrus, Blush, Indigo and Silver.

The company’s new MacBook Neo Collection includes the $44.99 OntheGo 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter, the $44.99 USB-C Snap Hub and the $29.99 Slim EX Wireless Mouse. All three products are available through Satechi and Amazon.

The collection addresses one of the compromises Apple made to reach the MacBook Neo’s $599 starting price.

The laptop includes two USB-C ports and a headphone jack, but one USB-C connection runs at USB 3 speeds while the other is limited to USB 2. Apple also left out built-in HDMI and memory card slots.

Two hubs take different approaches

Satechi’s OntheGo 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter connects through a short integrated nylon-braided USB-C cable. It adds 4K video output at 60Hz, an SD card reader, one USB-A data port, one USB-C data port and up to 60 watts of pass-through charging.

Both data ports are rated for transfers of up to 5 gigabits per second. A magnetic base can attach to a MagSafe-compatible iPhone, while an included adhesive ring allows the hub to mount on a MacBook Neo lid.

The portable design makes more sense for users who want to move the adapter among several devices. Satechi says it also works with MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, iPads and USB-C Windows laptops.

The USB-C Snap Hub is more tightly tied to Apple’s entry-level laptop. It plugs directly into both of the MacBook Neo’s asymmetrically positioned USB-C ports and sits against the side of the computer without a cable.

Its six connections include HDMI output at up to 4K and 60Hz, USB-A and USB-C data ports, SD and microSD card readers, and USB-C pass-through charging capped at 45 watts. Satechi says all six can operate simultaneously.

The flush design is cleaner than a hanging adapter, but it also occupies both USB-C ports and depends on their exact spacing. The hub can work with other dual-port MacBooks, though its shape and matching finishes were designed specifically for the Neo.

Color matching is more than a cosmetic extra in this case. Apple sells the MacBook Neo in the same four finishes and extends those colors to the keyboard, making mismatched accessories more noticeable than they would be beside a conventional silver or dark-gray laptop.

A mouse completes the MacBook Neo set

The Slim EX Wireless Mouse uses an aluminum body with quiet switches and a machined scroll wheel. It can connect to two devices over Bluetooth and a third through a 2.4GHz wireless receiver.

Satechi also gave the mouse a rechargeable, user-replaceable battery, an uncommon feature in a category where rechargeable cells are often sealed inside. It supports macOS, iPadOS, Windows and Android.

The collection is sensibly priced for a laptop marketed toward students and first-time Mac buyers. However, the two hubs solve different problems rather than offering a clear upgrade path.

The OntheGo adapter provides faster 60-watt charging and wider compatibility, while the Snap Hub trades some charging capacity for an integrated appearance and an additional microSD slot.

Pricing & Availability

Satechi’s MacBook Neo Collection includes the OntheGo 5-in-1 Multiport Adapter and USB-C Snap Hub for $44.99 each, along with the Slim EX Wireless Mouse for $29.99. All three are available in Citrus, Blush, Indigo and Silver.

Apple introduced the 13-inch MacBook Neo in March 2026 as its most affordable laptop, starting at $599 for consumers and $499 for education customers. It uses an A18 Pro chip, weighs 2.7 pounds and offers up to 16 hours of battery life.
