Debi Mazar says the once joyful ‘Entourage’ set eventually became toxic
Debi Mazar, who appeared as Vincent Chase’s publicist, Shauna Roberts, in hit series Entourage, claimed the workplace turned toxic. In a recent interview with the U.K.’s the Times, she said, “Season one was a joy-fest. But in the third season, the set was a testosterone-fuelled environment. I’m tough, but it got toxic towards the end for me. And I’d had my second baby, and they didn’t like that I got fat, even though I got skinny again.”
She added that the set was initially joyful to work on but later became toxic. However, she is grateful that she was part of the show. Mazar said, “It was complicated because I’m outspoken and never held back my discontent. But I always was professional, and I’m grateful I was on it. It was a lot of fun, until it wasn’t.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show ran on HBO from 2004 to 2011. In 2015, Mazar reunited with the cast for the Entourage film.
Earlier in her interview with PeopleTV’s Couch Surfing in 2020, she opened up about the character. She admitted it was fun to play, but she was conscious of her dialogue on the show. “I was kind of, almost like embarrassed by my dialogue, because I curse, and I obviously have the ability to be a complete trash mouth, but some of the things I would say would completely make me blush,” she said on PeopleTV.
Mazar has been playing the character across different seasons; her character was episodic rather than the main cast.
She stars in the upcoming thriller The Housewife and another film, The Last Mrs. Parrish, alongside Jennifer Lopez.
