Harry Styles faced criticism after artwork on an NYC concert ticket drew uncomfortable comparisons to the September 11 attacks just days before the 25th anniversary.
The ticket belonged to Styles’ September 9 show at Madison Square Garden. Its design showed a yellow car flying above the Empire State Building while leaving a trail near the building’s spire.

One social media user reacted, “putting that on the back the week of 9/11 is f–king insane it’s cute but i fear that was not a good idea.”
Another person described the imagery as “A little bold given its 9/11 week in NYC.”
Other users expressed similar confusion over the design. One wrote, “bro that’s wild,” while another asked, “literally who approved this?”
The Harry Styles controversy centered on the ticket’s timing rather than any stated reference to the attacks. The source did not report that Styles or his team intentionally connected the artwork to September 11.
Styles’ representatives had not commented on the criticism at the time of the report.
New York City prepared to mark 25 years since the September 11, 2001 attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people after hijacked planes struck the World Trade Center and other targets.
The disputed ticket surfaced during Styles’ lengthy Madison Square Garden run. The singer had started a 30-show residency there on August 26 and planned to continue through October 31.
The New York shows marked his only U.S. stop on the Together Together Tour. He had also performed in Amsterdam, London, São Paulo and Mexico City before his New York residency.
Styles supported his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., with the tour.
He also told fans that he planned to announce additional 2027 dates. Styles said those shows would represent the tour’s final cities.
“When we decided to do the 2026 tour I knew it would be special but what you turned it into was far beyond what I could have imagined,” he wrote to fans as per Rolling Stone.
While Styles celebrated the tour’s success, his September 9 NYC concert ticket prompted a very different conversation over its imagery and proximity to the 9/11 anniversary.
