‘The Traitors: New Blood’ Premiere Brings New Jackpot Incentive & Turret Twist

Get ready for the ultimate murder mystery, but this time with everyday people. The Traitors: New Blood features 22 reality TV novices all vying for $250,000, and they’ll do anything to get it, especially murder.

New Blood, hosted by Alan Cumming, is the same Traitors that fans know and love, but this time it isn’t celebrities entering the house. There will still be challenges, banishments, and murders, but no one knows each other and they all have a fresh start.

The contestants will compete in challenges to raise the prize pot of up to $250,000. There will be Traitors picked, and they will murder a contestant. Then, the Faithfuls will try to banish the Traitors. If Faithfuls are left at the end, they split the money. However, if a Traitor is amongst them, they will take the whole pot.

The cast includes Abbey Benjamin, Abby Lee, Arisa Thomas, Ben McDonnell, Clyde Moser, Jay Vinnedge, Joe Vanella, Katie Fites, Kim Daily, Kriste Lewis, Logan Smith, Madeline Kostopulos, Mark Zgoda, Michael Foote, Morgan Cook, Niyyah Hayes, Shane Beatty, Sherry Kuehl, Tomica Adams, Victor Vollbrechthausen, Wyatt Gillespie, and Xavier Scruggs.

Episode 1

James and Oliver Phelps (Harry Potter) raised the flag at the Scottish Highlands castle, signaling the new season. When Cumming introduced himself to the new cast, he told them that for every Traitor they sniff out and banish, an extra $15,000 will be added to the prize pot.

The Traitors: Joe, the funeral director, and Tomica, a pilot, were chosen as the Traitors. They were both excited to be in that position.

“One more player will soon join them. When? You’ll just have to wait and see,” Cumming said.

For the challenge, the contestants had to search in crates in the water. The three with treasure chests in them were worth $10,000 each. They needed to find those chests, figure out how to open them, and bank them. The chests also contained part of a code that opened the Captain’s Safe. If they found that, an additional $20,000 could be banked. There were also three shields up for grabs. They banked the $50,000.

Shields: Victor, a business executive, Madeline, a construction manager, and Abby L, an astrophysicist, obtained safety with the shields.

Before the Traitors could murder their first victim, they had to choose two more Faithfuls to join them. “For the next 24 hours, they will be put through a series of tests to see if they have what it takes to impress you as a Traitor,” Cumming let them know. “At the end of that period, you will select one of them to join you. As for the other, they will face the cruelest of cuts, as you will murder them.”

Banished: Madeline (Faithful) with 13 votes (Victor received seven and Kristie received one)

Blame was placed on Victor for going for a shield right away and Madeline for saying, “I feel bad for picking Kim.” Plus, they hung out together all the time and seemed to have developed crushes.

Accomplice Traitors Task: Katie and Xavier had to find the identical Crime and Punishment books in the castle that contained death warrants. Then, they had to deliver them to the Traitors in the turret face-to-face that night. If they failed to retrieve a warrant, they would be murdered.

They both tried to grab the warrant and nearly got caught. Find out who becomes the next Traitor and who gets murdered in Episode 3 next Thursday.
