Before Lioness, Two Cups Actor James Jordan Had Two Veronica Mars Roles

“Lioness” star James Jordan has spent three seasons engaging in CIA special operations as Two Cups, though many years earlier, he played two different criminals in “Veronica Mars.”

Before landing his numerous roles in Taylor Sheridan TV shows, Jordan appeared in Season 2 of the Kristen Bell-led mystery series — which aired from 2005 to 2006. His character Lucky was a military veteran and Neptune High School janitor who plotted to murder Gia Goodman (Krysten Ritter) before getting fired. Lucky came back to the school with a gun, but was killed by a security guard before he could hurt anyone.

Following his three-episode arc, Jordan returned to “Veronica Mars” in Season 3, this time taking on the role of Tim Foyle. Serving as Professor Hank Landry’s (Patrick Fabian) teaching assistant at Hearst College, Tim was obsessed with solving crimes and often butted heads with Veronica. After learning that Landry spoke negatively of him to a prospective employer, Tim murdered the college’s dean and tried to frame Landry for it. Over a decade later, “Veronica Mars” was revived by Hulu and released Season 4 in 2019. Jordan made a surprise cameo as Tim in Episode 4 when Veronica visited him in prison to obtain information for a current case. Some “Veronica Mars” viewers were surprised to see James Jordan get cast again after appearing as Lucky in Season 2. Others just couldn’t see beyond the goofy-looking wig Jordan wore while playing Tim Foyle.

James Jordan has gone on to become a Taylor Sheridan mainstay

After his final stint in “Veronica Mars” Season 4, Jordan went on to become the actor with the most appearances in Taylor Sheridan’s projects, taking on two roles in his movies and five across his TV shows. Two of these characters actually exist in the same universe, as Jordan portrayed Steve Hendon in “Yellowstone” and subsequently played Cookie in the prequel miniseries “1883.”

Having worked with Sheridan so many times now, Jordan knows exactly why he keeps teaming up with the esteemed writer-filmmaker. “Taylor casts just the best people, the best actors, and they’re great human beings and hard workers, and we just want to do our best for Taylor because he’s entrusted us to bring these characters to life, and it’s such a privilege,” he told TV Insider earlier this year.

Now that “Lioness” Season 3 has wrapped up, Jordan is keeping busy with his other ongoing Sheridan-created series, “Landman.” Jordan has played the hard-working oil field engineer Dale Bradley in the show’s first two seasons, and audiences will see him again in “Landman” Season 3 — which recently started filming.
