Gypsy-Rose Blanchard made a chilling admission about Ken Urker during a prison call with her then-boyfriend, Ryan Anderson. The recording surfaced after an earlier audio clip in which Blanchard discussed hitting Urker came to light. The newly surfaced recordings have added another dimension to the discussion surrounding Urker’s death.
Newly obtained records reveals Gypsy-Rose Blanchard telling Ken Urker to overdose during a 2020 prison call
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard reportedly made a call to Ryan Anderson from Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri. The call recording from 2020 reveals that Blanchard admitted to telling Urker to overdose. Blanchard made the call while she was incarcerated and romantically involved with Anderson.
Blanchard told Anderson that she listened to You Broke Me First by Tate McRae and described it as “a very sad little melody about someone that somebody is trying to get back with them.”
“So, anyway, I sent him that song, and then, next thing you know, he gone,” referring to Urker leaving her. Anderson replied, ‘Whatever, you’ll be calling him soon.” She added.
Blanchard said, “No, even after I told him he could overdose and all that, like, he still kept himself on my email, like, he never took himself off no matter how bad we got into it or how bad it seemed like we were at odds.” Anderson snapped at her, “I don’t want to talk about Ken. F**k Ken.” In another call from March 2021, she said,” told Ken I hope he overdose.”
Blanchard met Urker in 2017 while serving a prison sentence for her role in her mother’s murder. They later got engaged before calling it off.
In an audio from 2025, Blanchard admitted to her friend that she hit Urker’s headboard with a knife when she was drunk and sent him “a lot of mean texts like you’re a piece of s**t.” (via Daily Mail)
The audio recordings came to light after Blanchard continued to request the online users to end cyberbullying following Urker’s death.
Urker was found dead at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, on October 11. The cause of death has not been made public by authorities as the investigation is ongoing. Urker and Blanchard had an on-and-off relationship until Urker’s death.
