After Season 23 ended in May 2026, CBS’s flagship crime procedural series NCIS is returning for Season 24 in the fall of 2026. The show left us with a suspenseful fade to black after gunshots were heard inside the NCIS office. Many have been wondering what fate holds for Special Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Timothy McGee’s (Sean Murray) son, Mateo Garcia (Patrick Keleher), after they met during a contentious confrontation. Thankfully, answers are coming very soon.
NCIS has had many spin-offs, and the original series will follow the familiar release schedule this fall. With most expecting another 20 to 22 episodes to keep the investigative team busy through May 2027, here’s how, when, and where to watch NCIS as it returns for another round of detective action in October 2026.
When Does ‘NCIS’ Season 24 Premiere on CBS?
Those who have followed the franchise long enough know that Tuesday evenings are NCIS night. Season 24 of the long-running detective series will premiere on CBS on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 8:00 PM E.T./P.T. The original series will be followed by the premiere of NCIS: New York, followed by the return of NCIS: Origins.
After the October 6 premiere, one new NCIS episode will be released weekly on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM E.T./P.T. Although the network has not publicly announced the full episode count for Season 24 as of this writing, it has unveiled the titles of the first three. The premiere is titled “Wayward Son,” which likely refers to Timothy McGee’s son, Mateo Garcia, who pulled a gun on Nick Torres at the end of Season 23.
Episode 2, “Clean Slate,” airs on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026. Although details are sparse, Episode 3, “Sleeping Dogs,” will air on CBS on October 20. Most expect NCIS to follow its successful release schedule and feature 20 to 22 episodes, which has been the norm over the past 10 years. Although Seasons 15 and 16 had 24 episodes and Season 18 only 16, most seasons have more episodes. If the pattern holds, Season 24 will likely air from October 2026 to May 2027.
How to Stream ‘NCIS’ Season 24 on Paramount+
Paramount+ offers two different ways to stream NCIS 24. Depending on your subscription package, you can stream episodes as they air on Tuesday or watch them the following day. According to Paramount, subscribers to the Paramount+ Premium plan can watch each new episode at the same time that they air on CBS. Every subscriber can watch each new episode on demand on Paramount+ the following day.
Aside from reconciling the mysterious gunshot and fade-to-black that ended Season 23 on a cliffhanger, Season 24 marks the return of favorite Special Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), who will be featured in a full seasonal arc. Weatherly recently starred in the short-lived spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which was canceled after only one season.
Longtime series mainstays also returning for Season 24 include Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, Katrina Law as Special Agent Jessica Knight, Diona Reasonover as Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines, and Gary Cole as Special Agent Alden Parker.
