Battered Sean Strickland Sets Broken Nose Between Rounds, Sent To Hospital With Four Others | UFC 312

It’s better to be safe than sorry …

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight champion Sean Strickland did not exact his revenge on 185 lb kingpin Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312 tonight (Sat., Feb. 8, 2025) as he got battered for five rounds inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia (watch highlights).

Following UFC 312, company officials confirmed to MMAMania.com that Strickland was transported to a local Aussie hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face.

“Tarzan” wasn’t the only fighter sent to the hospital. Co-main event loser Tatiana Suarez, Jimmy Crute, and Rodolfo Bellato got ambulance rides for precautionary CT scans of their heads and faces. Jack Jenkins was transported for a scan of his jaw to make sure it was not fractured.

In addition to getting a CT scan, Strickland will likely get his nose checked out because Du Plessis broke it in the fourth round. Being the madman he is, Strickland told his coach that he re-set his nose as he sat down.

Suarez suffered the first loss of his professional career in the co-main event of UFC 312, losing a unanimous decision to Weili Zhang.

And like her teammate Strickland, Suarez will need stitches for a gash she suffered during the fight as she cut her knee against the fence.

Crute fought to ANOTHER draw on the pay-per-view (PPV) main card against Brazil’s Bellato. It was Crute’s first fight since June 2023, when he got submitted by Alonzo Meinfield (he also had a draw against Menifield).

Jenkins suffered his second UFC loss at UFC 312 when he got submitted in the third round by Gabriel Santos (watch highlights).
