Dana White Reacts To Turki Alalshikh Stopping Canelo Vs. Paul Mega Fight – ‘They Control The Sport Of Boxing’

Earlier this week, the combat sports world flipped upside down when it was reported that Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez would fight YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. However, it lasted all of 20 hours because the Saudi Arabia General Entertainment Authority, aka the boxing savior Turki Alalshikh, put the kibosh on that ridiculous fight and signed Alvarez to a four-fight deal.

Alvarez will now fight undefeated William Scull for the undisputed super Middleweight championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sat., May 3, 2025.

“El Gallo” was super mad.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White was asked what he thought about the situation during the UFC 312 press conference (watch here).

“Listen, they [Saudi Arabia] control the sport of boxing right now,” White told reporters. “I don’t think it’s hard for them to steal anybody from anybody. I don’t know the ends and outs of that deal but I’m sure it’s not too hard to steal someday to Saudi. Totally different levels there.”

White didn’t comment on Paul’s erratic reaction to having his mega-money fight taken away or the YouTuber’s claim that “UFC is a shittier version of boxing” and is “boring.
