Sometimes, The Price Is Right contestants walk away with money, cars, and trips. Other times, they take home motorcycles, hot tubs, boats, or just something odd. Fans debated what they think are the best and worst prizes contestants can win on the game show.
“What do you consider the best/worst prizes to win? I’d say cash or car is the best and hot tubs the worst. I wonder, also, how many people like trips when they are to uncommon locations such as Viet Nam,” a Reddit user asked. For contestants outside of California, they can either be given the car or the cash equivalent.
Most fans agreed that boats are the worst prize. “Whenever I see a Showcase with a boat, I go ‘pass!’” one fan said.
“A speed boat is so much work,” said another.
“A sailboat has to be the worst,” a third added.
“I think boats and motorcycles are the worst,” a fan commented.
“Motorcycle, I would think, is easier to sell (or at least store until sold) than a boat if you don’t want,” one fan replied.
Recent prizes that fans don’t like were a worm farm, a foam pit, an inflatable ball a person can roll around in, and “ugly living room furniture.” Fans also criticized the Big Foot statue and a chicken coop.
Other fans said that gym equipment, camping trailers, and hot tubs are useless for people in apartments.
The consensus was that cars, cash, and trips outside of the United States are the best.
“Cash and cars are best, but I wouldn’t mind a boat. You can always sell a boat if you don’t want it. The enormous gym equipment and steam showers are the worst. Who’s got room for that stuff? The bath tubs and showers seem nice, but you’d have the expense of remodeling your current bathroom,” another fan chimed in.
“I think laptops, tv sets, and stereos are the best,” another commented. One other fan said that they love garden prizes, especially smaller ones because even apartments can put them on a balcony.
