Air Canada Aeroplan Award Sale: Save Up to 25% on Redemptions

Air Canada has launched a new promotion, offering travellers up to 25% off Aeroplan award flight redemptions.

This limited-time offer provides an excellent opportunity to make your Aeroplan points go further on flights to over 180 destinations.

There’s no promo code needed, as the discount will be automatically applied at booking.

However, you’ll need to act fast—this promotion ends Sunday, Feb 23, 2025.

This offer applies to over 180 destinations across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia.

You must book directly through Air Canada by Feb 23, 2025 for travel between Feb 20, 2025 and Sept 30, 2025.

Keep in mind that blackout dates vary by destination.

  • Within Canada: June 26, 2025 – Sept 7, 2025
  • Between Canada and the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean Caribbean: June 26, 2025 – Sept 7, 2025

Sample Redemptions

Air Canada has provided a some examples of discounted award redemptions on the promotion page.

For example, a round-trip flight from Toronto (YYZ) to Paris (CDG) is available for 120,000 Aeroplan points plus $298 (all figures in CAD) in taxes and fees.

If you were to pay for the same flight in cash, it would cost CA$3,310, making this redemption worth 2.51 cents per point—an excellent deal given that we value Aeroplan points at 2.1 cents per point.

Here are some other flights that I’ve found which are good deal and worth considering:

Toronto (YYZ) to Amsterdam (AMS) for 64,500 Aeroplan points in Business Class

Toronto (YYZ) to Vienna (VIE) for 75,400 Aeroplan points in business class

Toronto (YYZ) to Seoul (ICN) for 52,600 Aeroplan points in premium economy class

If you have eUpgrade credits, you can enhance this deal by using the “Latitude Attitude” strategy to upgrade instantly to business class. For instance, the Toronto (YYZ) to Seoul (ICN) flight can be upgraded to business class for 70,600 Aeroplan points and CA$77 in taxes and fees.

Toronto (YYZ) to São Paulo (GRU) for 34,800 Aeroplan points in economy class

If you’re looking for more redemption sweet spots, consider joining our Prince of Travel Platinum Membership where you’ll get exclusive access to the best deals and strategies before anyone else.

Since Air Canada isn’t advertising specific discount percentages for each flight, the best way to evaluate the savings is by comparing the redemption value against cash fares.

For example, a one-way flight from Vancouver (YVR) to Hong Kong (HKG) in premium economy is available for 57,300 Aeroplan points plus CA$61 in taxes and fees.

The same flight costs CA$1,990 in cash, making the redemption value an impressive 3.37 cents per point—well above our Aeroplan valuation of 2.1 cents per point.

Another way to determine a good deal is by comparing Air Canada flights against partner airline redemptions.

Normally, partner flights from Toronto to Lisbon require a fixed 35,000 Aeroplan points in economy class. However, with this promotion, you may find Air Canada flights priced lower than partner airlines, allowing you to save points while also paying lower taxes and fees.

Plus, if you have a premium Aeroplan co-branded credit card, you’ll enjoy benefits like priority check-in and access to Maple Leaf Lounges.

Which Credit Card Should You Use to Book?

Using an Aeroplan co-branded card like the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* card is the best way to book flights with this promotion.

As long as you charge the taxes and fees to your card, you’ll be covered under its travel insurance, protecting you in case of flight delays or cancellations.

Travel disruptions happen more often than you think, and having insurance can give you peace of mind before your trip.

Conclusion

This Air Canada Aeroplan promotion is a fantastic opportunity to book flights at a discount, with some redemptions offering well above the standard 2.1 cents per point valuation.

Whether you’re planning a long-haul business class experience, looking for a tropical getaway, or upgrading to a premium cabin using eUpgrades, there’s plenty of value to be found. The key is to compare redemption prices against cash fares and partner airline rates to ensure you’re getting the best deal.

With the sale ending on Feb. 23, 2025, now is the time to lock in your flights before this opportunity disappears. If you want access to more Aeroplan redemption sweet spots and exclusive travel strategies, consider joining our Prince of Travel Platinum Membership today.
