It’s hard to forget just how tumultuous the relationship between Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy used to be. The blonde beauty had no room for a dud in her life and made sure to call Austen a “beta” any chance she got. But I guess that was deserved after she caught him having a threesome while they were dating. Needless to say, their love turned into quite a heartache. But Season 10 of Southern Charm is proving that even though they were unlucky in love, the best friendship can still blossom.
Austen Kroll loves hanging out with Madison LeCroy
It turns out exes can be best friends. And Austen is loving holding the title of Madison’s “gay best friend.” Who knew oyster shots oyster could bond these two? While at a bar catching up on life, Madison and Austen picked up as if they had never had a fight in their life. In fact Season 10 is showing them as a united front, which I kind of love. Austen is cracking jokes, telling Madison, “What are you wearing? It’s like you’re in a Hilary Duff music video.” The mother of one claps back, “I saw you do a double take.”
The two have this fantastic banter, which was never present during their dating time. “Now Madison treats me like her GBF. Take the relationship out of it, and we could have been hanging out years ago,” Austen joked. Even Madison felt the difference, noting, “Aren’t we better as girlfriends?” Austen agreed, saying, “Yes, take the drama out. Gossip.” Not to mention, watching them each throw back a shot with matching grimaces on their face was pretty priceless.
Madison LeCroy is sticking up for Austen Kroll
Madison has tried her best to mend the broken bridges between Craig Conover and Austen. As Bravo viewers know, the two men were inseparable for years. But between business ventures, girlfriends, and podcast issues, they have drifted apart. So much so that Craig has even tried to buy Austen out of their Pillows and Beer venture. The hairstylist wasn’t going to just let their friendship fall to the wayside and tried to talk sense into the Sewing Down South founder. For Madison, who always expects loyalty out of friendship, reconnecting them was a serious job that needed to be done.
During an earlier scene, cameras showed her confiding in Austen about the predicament. She noted she had always thought Craig would choose her and Austen over other people. The Trop Hop owner noted his lack of friendship with Craig “bummed me out for sure. Like I’m sad.” It was humbling to see Madison go to bat for her ex-boyfriend. She joked, telling cameras, “He’s hurt. I want to help him.” Then added, “I do. I feel bad for the guy.” She smiled “I always feel bad for Austen.”
Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy is the friendship Bravo needed
Madison has had to eat her words as of late. She once stated that she would only have a friendship with Austen again when “pigs fly.” But during Bravo’s Fan Fest she admitted to really enjoying filming this season with her new best bud. “Here we are. You know, he’s growing on me. And at this point, I pray for him,” she shared. I’d go out on a limb and say that fans, including myself, appreciate their newfound respect for one another. The fighting was often toxic, and I like seeing both of them thriving.
Austen and Madison’s friendship is now fun which leaves many of us to think maybe they should have been this way from the start. The two unequivocally have a deep sense of love for one another. Both Southern Charm stars understand one another’s quirks and seem to want to be there to support each other now more than ever. What makes these two great is the fact that they can just roast themselves for the pure joy of it. I hope Austen and Madison can continue this friendship because it is a hit for the series and its fans.
Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
