Magomed Ankalaev has been openly critical of Alex Pereira’s social media campaign over the last few weeks, suggesting that “Poatan” was prioritizing his side hustle as the newest “Tik Tok chick” over his reign as light heavyweight champion.
“I never wanna hurt someone in my life like I want to hurt Alex, he is a fake humble boy,” Ankalaev wrote on Twitter. “I’ve been climbing mountains, chopping wood, swimming in freezing lakes, and Alex been dancing and making videos like a TikTok chick.”
Pereira responded with a video of himself wrestling barefoot in the snow, alongside longtime coach and mentor, Glover Teixeira.
“I hope you’re ready to do this for 25 minutes,” Ankalaev added.
Pereira and Ankalaev will collide atop the UFC 313 pay-per-view (PPV) event on March 8 in Las Vegas, a five-round showdown that did not come easily. Pereira blames the challenger for his “boring” style while Ankalaev insists the promotion was protecting its golden goose.
“Poatan” is currently a slight betting underdog.
