Star Wars Zero Company: Best Jae Build Guide (Class, Skills, & Equipment)

Jae Mordant isn’t part of Star Wars Zero Company‘s rogue crew from the very start of the story, but she quickly joins the ranks of playable characters on the battlefield. While she might feel like a less flashy option than Kabb or Trick, her unique talent and general versatility turn her into an extremely useful option.

Options for building Jae are generally flexible, but you’ll likely want to focus on multi-shot ranged damage to work hand-in-hand with her talent. An optimal Jae build will result in her frequently picking off multiple enemies in one turn, making her an easy choice to bring along for many of Zero Company‘s missions.

Best Classes For Jae

The best primary class for Jae will depend on what you choose for Hawks, as you may not want to double down on them being the same class. If you spec Hawks as a Gunslinger, Assault can be a good option for Jae. If you have Hawks as Assault, meanwhile, swapping things around to make Jae a Gunslinger should also prove effective.

If you go with Assault first, speccing Jae into a Gunslinger for her second class will lean into her strengths. At this point, it shouldn’t prove to be too much overlap with Hawks, who can be specced into Medic or Scout for a secondary class.

Best Skills For Jae

Star Wars Zero Company Sweeping Salvo

Jae’s unique talent, Final Shot, is a consistently strong asset on the battlefield. This allows her to randomly pick off enemies with minimal health remaining as a passive reaction, using no Action Points to do so. This is worth upgrading all the way at your earliest convenience, as she’ll be able to do it twice per turn to any enemies at 10 health or less once the talent has been maxxed out.

All of her Assault skills can be useful, but upgrading Fleet of Foot early will give her more battlefield maneuverability. Sweeping Salvo should also be a priority, as this special action makes it easy to damage multiple enemies at once. While Bull Rush is good, you can have Kabb focus on the melee if he’s in the squad.

If you spec Jae into gunslinger, Quick Draw is a great option, giving her increasingly useful shots that only cost one action point. Upgrade that first, but the Keen Eye passive can also be useful to score more crits.

Best Equipment For Jae

Voltage Modulator Star Wars Zero Company

For general battlefield agility and multiple shots per turn, you’ll want to go with a Blaster Rifle or possibly a Blaster Pistol for Jae. The weapon mod you use will depend on what you acquire through Operations or find on the Black Market, but something that inflicts status effects on enemies, like the Voltage Modulator, can be a good choice. I also recommend boosts to Critical Hit Damage or Assist Damage, like the Single Coil Condenser and Stalker Scope.

As for her Utilities, the Impact Bomb can be useful later on, as Jae will likely end up in good positions to bomb enemies with relative frequently. If you’re struggling with her survivability on a harder difficulty setting, you can opt for a healing item instead, and you might prefer to swap to more specialized utilities that deal damage to Droids or daze enemies later on as the Impact Bomb‘s damage becomes less relevant.

Once you’ve equipped Jae well and started to upgrade her abilities, you’ll likely fall in love with her ability to clean up the battlefield in Star Wars Zero Company.
