A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been a refreshing new chapter for the Game of Thrones franchise, giving fans a more personal and character-driven adventure through Westeros than the large-scale Dance of the Dragons battles seen lately in House of the Dragon. Following hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his young squire, Egg, the series brings George R.R. Martin’s beloved Tales of Dunk and Egg stories to live action, with its first season adapting the 1998 novella The Hedge Knight.
Fortunately, Dunk and Egg’s journey is far from finished, as HBO has already renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for Season 2, which is set to arrive in 2027 and continue Martin’s story with an adaptation of The Sworn Sword. On October 21, however, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will step back into the spotlight through a brand-new release appropriately titled The Brightflame, giving fans another dose of Westeros while they await Dunk and Egg’s next television adventure.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is officially returning to Game of Thrones: Legends on October 21 with The Brightflame, a new summon built around one of the HBO series’ most memorable Targaryens. The summon begins on October 21 and remains available until November 18, giving players nearly a month to pursue its featured Legendary Champions.
For those unfamiliar with Legends, summons essentially function as limited or permanent recruitment banners. Players use Gold or different Summoning Tokens for chance-based pulls that award Champion Shards, which are used to unlock and strengthen characters. Zynga has repeatedly adjusted the system to make Legendary Shards more plentiful, while newer character releases revolve around its new Exalted Summon system.
The big attraction here is Aerion Targaryen, whose “Brightflame” nickname gives the summon its title. Aerion was played by Finn Bennett in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, while Egg, played by Dexter Sol Ansell, is also part of the summon pool. HBO’s series centers on Egg and Ser Duncan the Tall, with Aerion among the prominent Targaryens introduced during their adventures. The complete Brightflame lineup consists of Aerion Targaryen, Egg, Osha, Walder Frey, Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Alicent Hightower. Interestingly, Dunk himself is absent despite being the show’s other lead.
This isn’t Legends‘ first connection to the series, as Ser Duncan was introduced as a Legendary Champion in January, followed by Egg through The Bald Boy Squire summon in February, with Zynga specifically presenting those additions as part of its celebration of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
The Brightflame is only one piece of a packed October calendar. Lord of the Hightower, another new summon, runs from October 7 through November 4 and features Ormund and Gwayne Hightower alongside Otto, Rhaenyra, Aegon II, and Sunfyre. The new Unlikely Heir Kingsroad season begins October 12, with Benjen Stark shards offered through its paid Goldroad Pass, while Gendry Baratheon takes over as the new PVP Tier Reward Champion.
October also brings weekly Grand Melees featuring Nymeria Sand, Ormund Hightower, Mance Rayder, and (appropriately) Aerion Targaryen. Returning quest events cover Robb’s War, Battle of the Bastards, House of the Dragon, Battle of Blackwater Bay, and Assault on Rook’s Rest, while Alliser Thorne and Catelyn Stark receive new Iconic Items on October 14 and October 28, respectively. Altogether, The Brightflame gives A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms a prominent feature in one of Legends‘ busiest months of 2026.
