EasyJet is handing a £66.50 passport boost to UK passengers to make travel a “little easier”.

As part of a new initiative, the budget airline will cover the cost of newborn babies’ passports, helping parents to save money on child passport fees and make holidays feel more affordable. It currently costs £66.50 to apply for a child passport online, but the airline has committed to cover this fee when parents book an easyJet holiday. The move will come as a welcome boost for the 585,000 families welcoming a new baby each year in England and Wales, with 75% of parents surveyed by the airline saying the move would make a holiday with a baby feel more financially manageable.

According to the study by easyJet and easyJet holidays, more than a third (36%) of parents cited newborn passports as a major holiday hurdle, with the first passport photo being one of the biggest challenges to getting there.

Parents said they needed an average of four attempts to get an approved passport photo for their baby, while almost a quarter (24%) needed up to six tries.

But 48% of parents said the holiday was easier than they’d expected, while a whopping 87% would confidently do it again.

EasyJet holidays has reported a 10% increase in infants travelling this year compared to 2025 and the airline flew over 22,000 more infants across its network in 2026, with city break bookings proving popular among young families.

EasyJet Captain Kate West, said: “We carry millions of families across Europe every year, and we know that travelling with a baby brings a whole series of exciting firsts.

“We want to make travel as easy and accessible as possible for everyone, including young families, so they can enjoy all the experiences and memories that travel can bring.

“We hope that covering the cost of a baby’s first passport goes a small way towards making that first family adventure a little easier and gives our youngest travellers a warm welcome to the world.”

The airline and tour operator has teamed up with Peppa Pig, little sister Evie and her family, along with Captain West, to star in a new digital video to share top tips for travelling abroad with an infant, including practical advice on taking a baby passport photo.

Families can find full details on how parents can claim the £66.50 first passport offer, redeemable against easyJet holidays, at easyJet.com/firstpassport.

The promo code can be applied once per booking for one child up to 18 months old when booking between October 22, 2026, and November 26, 2026.

Stuart Wright, Customer Director at easyJet holidays, added: “Travel has a unique way of bringing families together, and a baby’s very first holiday is often one of those moments parents remember for years to come. By covering the cost of a baby’s first passport, we’re helping more families start making those memories that little bit sooner.

“Combined with our great-value packages, family-friendly hotels and thousands of Free Kids Places, it’s another way we’re making family holidays easier and more affordable.”
