UFC Kansas City results: Matches to make for ‘Garry vs. Prates’ main card winners

UFC Kansas City went down last night (Sat., April 26, 2025) inside T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo., which was headlined by a Welterweight fight that saw Ian Machado Garry defeat Carlos Prates via unanimous decision (full recap here). while Zhang Mingyang sent Anthony Smith off into retirement with a violent and bloody first-round loss (see it again here). Also, Randy Brown scored one of the best knockouts of the year over Nicolas Dalby (highlights).

Winner: Ian Garry

Who He Should Face Next: Sean Brady

For as much as Garry thinks he deserves a title shot next (unless it’s an emergency), Shavkat Rakhmonov is the next man up to face the winner of Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena, who are set to collide at UFC 315. Because let’s not forget, it wasn’t too long ago that Rakhmonov took Garry’s undefeated record. As for what could realistically be next for the fiery Irishman, a showdown against Sean Brady might be in order. Brady is currently ranked No. 1 in the division and is coming off a one-sided beating over former champion, Leon Edwards. The winner gets next title shot.

Winner: Zhang Mingyang

Who He Should Face Next: Bogdan Guskov

Let’s put aside the fact that Anthony Smith hasn’t looked the same in a very long time, Mingyang’s first-round destruction was still impressive and allowed him to improve his win streak to 12, four inside the Octagon. With the win, he will be a Top 15 fighter next week, which means a pairing against Guskov could be possible, as he is currently ranked No. 12 and is riding a three-fight win streak inside the Octagon.

UFC Fight Night: Onama v Santos

Winner: David Onama

Who He Should Face Next: Dan Ige

Onama secures his fourth straight win inside the Octagon by dominating Giga Chikadze en route to a unanimous decision win. Now, “The Silent Assassin” has his sights set on a Top 15 rankings. With it comes bigger fights, such as one against Ige, who is currently ranked No. 14 and is coming off a third-round technical knockout (TKO) win over Sean Woodson at UFC 314 (see it here).

UFC Fight Night: Pereira v Magomedov

Winner: Abus Magomedov

Who He Should Face Next: Ikram Aliskerov

Magomedov extended his win streak to three in a row after defeating Michel Pereira via unanimous decision, upping his UFC record to 4-2. As for Aliskerov, he also secured a big win on the night by knocking out Andre Muniz, improving his UFC record to 3-1. Both men have similar UFC experience, both would have similar turnaround times, so let’s make this easy and book them against one another.

UFC Fight Night: Brown v Dalby

Winner: Randy Brown

Who He Should Face Next: Chidi Njokuani

Brown ended Nicolas Dalby’s night with a devastating knockout, moving him to 4-1 in his last six fights. “Rude Boy” has seemingly found his groove, and a fight against Njokuani is one I would very much like to see. Njokuani was last seen defeating Elizeu Zaleski via technical knockout (TKO) last month, his third straight win.
