UFC fighter vs. NFL player? Nah! 100 humans vs. a gorilla … who wins?
If you’re wondering why gorillas are flooding your social media algorithms, it’s because this past weekend, someone went viral by claiming that 100 people could defeat a single gorilla in a fight.
Once that idea hit the Internet, it exploded, sparking countless opinions and debates.
This like saying 100 4 year olds could beat an adult man. It’s not happening.

There’s no definitive evidence to settle the debate, as such an event has never occurred. However, extensive animal behavior studies and data on gorillas provide some insight.
To put it bluntly, the 100 humans would likely be screwed — yes, even UFC fighters.
Gorillas are extraordinarily powerful, with adult silverbacks weighing up to 430 pounds and boasting muscle mass and bite force far superior to humans. A single gorilla can lift more than 1,800 pounds and has grip strength capable of crushing bones. In addition, their thick skin and dense bones make them highly resistant to typical human strikes.
Mr. Beast, one of the world’s most popular YouTubers, posted today that he’s seeking 100 volunteers to test this theory. Surprisingly, Bo Nickal — who competes this weekend against Reinier de Ridder in the co-main event of UFC Des Moines — quickly volunteered.
“I’m in,” Nickal wrote on social media.
Perhaps Nickal is channeling Mike Tyson, who once offered a zookeeper $10,000 to fight a gorilla (Yes, that happened).
Regardless, we’ll likely never witness 100 people facing off against a gorilla. Thanks to AI, however, we can simulate what might happen in such an improbable scenario.
