UFC Vegas 106 went down last night (Sat., May 17, 2025) in Las Vegas, Nevada, which saw Michael Morales demolish Gilbert Burns in the first round (highlights). In the co-main event (no, not this one), Mairon Santos defeated Sodiq Yusuff via unanimous decision, while Melquizael Costa defeated Julian Erosa (also via unanimous decision) in the “Fight of the Night.”

Winner: Michael Morales
Who He Should Face Next: Buckley vs. Usman winner
Morales took a huge step last night in defeating Burns, and now the 25 year-old Ecuadorian is primed for a Top 10 ranking. I wouldn’t mind seeing him face off against the winner of the upcoming fight between Joaquin Buckley vs. Kamaru Usman, who are set to throw down on June 14, 2025. Buckley is also on a nice run with six straight wins, and getting a win over Usman would be a nice notch on anyone’s belt. Morales is proving that he is as legit as they come, so a victory over either one of those men gets him closer to the Top 5.

Winner: Mairon Santos
Who He Should Face Next: Evan Elder
It wasn’t the most exciting win, but Santos did enough to get a victory over Yusuff to improve his win streak to four in a row, three inside the Octagon. A fight against Elder would be a pretty good est for Santos’ next outing. Elder is coming off a win over Gauge Young earlier this year, and like Santos, is also on a three fight win streak inside the Octagon.

Winner: Melquizael Costa
Who He Should Face Next: Chepe Mariscal
Costa nearly lost his toe in his win over Erosa, but that $50,000 bonus will help his wounds heal a little faster. Costa has now won four straight fights and is 5-2 inside the Octagon. I wouldn’t mind seeing a fight between Costa and Mariscal, who ha won five straight under UFC’s banner and is on a an eight-fight win streak. The winner of this fight should earn a Top 15 spot.

Winner: Nursulton Ruziboev
Who He Should Face Next: Azamat Bekoev
Ruziboev improved his UFC record to 4-1 with a convincing win over Dustin Stoltzfus. “Black’s” only loss inside the Octagon came against the aforementioned Buckley, his lone defeat in five years. Ruziboev would match up well with Bekoev, who is undefeated (2-0) inside the Octagon and the owner of an eight-fight win streak. Bekoev was last seen stopping Ryan Loder via technical knockout earlier this month.
