Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now 364 days away, and with filming currently underway, it appears a recent set leak might have hinted at the film’s potential villain. The sequel is looking to be a new start for the MCU Spider-Man franchise, as it will pick up in the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home and focus on more street-level adventures. Little is known about the movie, though Jon Bernthal is reprising his role as Frank Castle / The Punisher, and an upcoming action scene might imply a fan-favorite Marvel villain is part of the movie.
Recent set photos of Spider-Man: Brand New Day feature a military vehicle with a devil drawn on it. This has led many to speculate that this is connected to the gang, the Inner Demons, and their leader, Mister Negative. The character, whose real name is Martin Li, was made popular in the Marvel’s Spider-Man game franchise. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not confirmed that information, but a major action scene involving a tank is currently being filmed in Glasgow, Scotland, which is doubling for New York. You can see the set images below.

From an iconic Peter Parker love interest to a founding X-Men member, these are the characters Sadie Sink could be playing in the MCU.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a year away, but it is also the next MCU feature film following The Fantastic Four: First Steps and the final movie leading into Avengers: Doomsday. Combined with the massive box office numbers that Spider-Man: No Way Home had, Brand New Day has great expectations placed upon it. It might be some time until more details about the film come out, as the eight-second sneak peek at Spider-Man’s new costume provided neither a clear look nor many details.
Who Is Mister Negative?
Mister Negative was created by Dan Slott and Phil Jimenez and debuted in Free Comic Book Day: The Amazing Spider-Man #1 as a kick-off to the “Brand New Day” storyline in the comics. He is Martin Li, a philanthropist who founded the charity F.E.A.S.T. while also working as a crime lord named Mister Negative and running the gang the Inner Demons to take over New York City. He is best known for his role in the popular Marvel Spider-Man video games.
The fan-favorite villain has been rumored to be the primary antagonist of Spider-Man: Brand New Day for some time now, and this might be the first bit of confirmation. Brand New Day is expected to feature iconic foes from the web-slinger rogues gallery, but Mister Negative provides a strong central threat. His ability to corrupt individuals has led many to speculate on how and why Bruce Banner, rumored to be in Brand New Day, will lose control of the Hulk persona, forcing Spider-Man to intervene.
