After Wells Adams dropped the mic on the Bachelor In Paradise drama, the internet exploded with praise. The bartender cum voice of reason decided on Monday’s episode to call out what he termed “douchebag code,” eliciting big reactions from viewers and even Adams’ celebrity wife.

On his Instagram, Wells celebrated the instant the term “douchebag code” graced network television with a clip of himself dishing on the messy love triangle of the season. The drama is about Jeremy allegedly telling another girl that he would leave Paradise with her if she came back while still coupled off with Bailey. When Brian warned Bailey, the rest of the cast member scolded him for breaking “bro code.”

In the clip, Adams said: “From where I’m sitting at the bar, Brian’s the only guy doing the right thing here,” while the clip depicted Adams getting more furious and bewildered that Jeremy’s doing was in everyone’s knowledge but not told to Bailey. “I understand bro code, but it’s turning into like douchebag code.” This utterance created a viral moment.

The comment elicited much support from Adams’ wife Sarah Hyland, whom he married in 2022. Sarah wrote, “So happy I married one of the good ones,” followed by a heart emoji. Her initial comment snowballed into a chorus of agreement with one fan stating, “After he said this I went ‘Sarah is so lucky to have him,’” followed by another heart-eyed emoji. Another said, “You sure did!!!!” followed by raised-hand and heart emojis.

Support came knocking beyond their home. Actress Melanie Lynskey shared how she and her husband, Jason, were “yelling ‘THANK YOU WELLS’ at the screen.” An intrigued follower slyly added that they were “obsessed with the fact that you two are spending Monday nights watching BIP.”

One viewer wrote plainly: “Brian did the right thing. Jeremy should get all the blame, not Brian.” More comments expressed indignation: “I’m disgusted by all the couples that defended Jeremy and blamed Brian,” while others asked for Jeremy’s permanent ban from the franchise.

The backlash caught up with other cast members, too. One viewer commented, “Andrew & Spencer disappointed me for the first time this season.” Continuing, they said they did not care for Jeremy but wanted to “shout the fk out to Wells for getting it EXACTLY RIGHT HERE.” From this point, the entire comment section descended into raging disapproval of many contestants’ reactions.

At the very least, other viewers wanted to put the show to one side. “I’m not watching anymore,” said one. “I love Wells, but the show just makes me cringe.” Adams’ commentary, however, was refreshing for those who needed it. “THANK YOU WELLS! Also can we talk about the fact Jeremy still lied to Bailey on the beach??” said an especially pissed-off viewer.

The bartender has made quite the niche for himself with candid commentary about the franchise through the years, first appearing in JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette, before becoming Paradise’s resident mixologist and part-time mediator. It looks like his latest outburst really drew that line in the sand for these viewers that are sick of reality TV choosing drama over decency.

As comments erupted, one feeling echoed everywhere: “Finally someone agrees with me lol.” Whether you’re Team Brian, Team Bailey, or simply Team Wells, one thing’s certain: this Paradise fiasco is really not going away anytime soon-and Adams certainly isn’t stepping away from his original position, cocktail shaker in hand, with jaw-dropping truths ready to be dropped.
