Porter Airlines Expands Winter Schedule with Four New Routes

Porter Airlines is expanding its 2025–26 winter schedule, with four new routes and a 25% capacity increase in service to popular destinations.

Not only is Porter boosting service from Ottawa and Toronto, but it’s also rolling out its first-ever US service from Vancouver (YVR) and its first Caribbean route from Montreal (YUL).

Both moves mark a significant step in Porter’s growing ambition to compete for leisure travellers across Canada.

Porter Increases Sun Destination Capacity by 25%

Porter Airlines has announced a major expansion to its 2025–26 winter schedule, adding up to 25% more capacity on popular sun routes and introducing four new routes.

Compared to last winter, Porter will be flying as much as 25% more seats to sun destinations during peak travel season. That means more flights, more options, and potentially better pricing.

This expansion goes beyond just extra service. Porter is also introducing four brand-new routes, including direct access to American Airlines hubs in Miami (MIA) and Phoenix (PHX).

These cities are attractive in their own right, while also opening up connections across the US, Caribbean, and South America through American’s network.

Starting in late January and early February 2026, Porter will roll out the following routes:

These additions strengthen Porter’s growing partnership with American Airlines, making Phoenix and Miami not only destinations in themselves but also valuable connection points to American’s broader US, Caribbean, and South American network.

Increased Service on Existing Routes

In addition to the four new routes, Porter is also ramping up service on some of its most popular sun destinations:

  • Hamilton (YHM) – Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
  • Ottawa (YOW) – Grand Cayman (GCM)
  • Ottawa (YOW) – Liberia (LIR)
  • Ottawa (YOW) – Puerto Vallarta (PVR)
  • Toronto Pearson (YYZ) – Cancun (CUN)
  • Toronto Pearson (YYZ) – Fort Lauderdale (FLL)
  • Toronto Pearson (YYZ) – Liberia (LIR)

This ramp-up is a direct response to strong demand from Canadian travellers looking for warm-weather getaways during peak winter months.

Porter Experience and Booking Examples

All routes will be operated by Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, featuring 2-2 seating with no middle seats, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary snacks, beer, and wine served in glassware.

For travellers who want more space and perks, PorterReserve fares offer extra legroom, fresh meals, priority services, and added flexibility.

One of the most exciting new routes is Porter’s first Caribbean service from Montreal (YUL) to Nassau (NAS), launching February 5, 2026. Flights are scheduled three times per week, and tickets are already available for booking.

Looking at sample fares in February, a round-trip Porter Classic Standard comes in at about $618.88. The same itinerary is also pricing at 32,000 VIPorter points plus $330.88 in taxes and fees.

When you do the math, that works out to about 0.9 cents per point, which falls short of our conservative valuation of 1.5 cents per point. In other words, the cash fare is the better deal here.

That said, if you’re sitting on a healthy balance of points from the BMO VIPorter World Elite®* Mastercard®*, using points can still be worthwhile if your priority is cutting down the cash cost of your trip.

Plus, if you’re booking a cash fare, you’ll get the best bang for your buck with the card’s 3x VIPorter points on Porter purchases.

It’ll also be interesting to see if cash fares climb once demand picks up, which could improve the value of a points redemption.

Conclusion

Porter Airlines’ latest expansion makes its winter schedule stronger than ever, with four brand-new routes and a 25% boost in flights to popular sun spots.

Whether it’s Miami from Ottawa, Phoenix from Vancouver, or Nassau from Montreal, Canadians now have more warm-weather choices with Porter’s elevated economy experience, and one less excuse to spend winter shovelling snow.
