Will the Kurdish militant group PKK’s ceasefire hold? : NPR

Militants from the Kurdish ethnic group who have fought an insurgency against Turkish authorities for more than four decades have declared a ceasefire, in what may represent a significant political breakthrough for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The announcement came just two days after the leader of the militant PKK group, Abdullah Ocalan, whom Turkey has held in prison since 1999, called on his fighters to disarm.

The PKK, known as the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, launched its war against the Turkish state in the early 1980s, due to perceived ill-treatment of Turkey’s Kurdish minority. The conflict has caused thousands of deaths in the more than 40 years that have followed.

The group has carried out only smaller-scale attacks inside Turkey in recent years though, and has seen the Turkish military using armed drones to drive many of its cadres across the mountain border into neighboring Iraq.

The move follows 18 months of seismic change in the region, following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel and the response in Gaza; the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and the toppling of long-time Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by rebels who are now building a new government in Damascus.

The latest peace efforts involving Ankara and the PKK, which the governments of Turkey and many European allies have designated a terrorist organization, have been driven in recent months by political partners of President Erdoğan.

Erdoğan may need Kurdish support to run again

Some analysts have said public suggestions by Erdoğan’s political allies that Ocalan, the 75-year-old PKK leader, could be released in return for a renunciation of violence, form part of an effort to woo Kurdish voters. Kurdish support might be necessary to alter constitutional term limits that bar Erdoğan from running for re-election in 2028.

But Turkey’s largest legal pro-Kurdish political party has faced increased pressure in the past few months, with mayors belonging to the party replaced by Erdoğan-friendly appointees.

The ceasefire announcement does mark the first concrete steps toward peace since the PKK and Turkish government abandoned the last set of disarmament negotiations a decade ago, but some analysts remain skeptical about its longer term durability.

“I’d be shocked if anything much comes out of this, but that might take years to see its way through,” says Bill Park, a visiting research fellow at King’s College London.

Park says PKK’s allies in Syria may not agree with this decision, and that could complicate this announcement. “I’m very skeptical — I don’t see in Turkey any democratization, any change of heart. The Kurdish local governments have been closed down — activists in prison, journalists in prison,” he says.

And he says there are divisions within the PKK, but many members may feel they have to go along with what Ocalan says because of his cult status as the group’s long-time jailed leader.

Erdoğan, though, said that Ocalan’s call this past week for PKK fighters to put down their arms represented a “new phase” in peace attempts for the people of Turkey.

“There is an opportunity to take a historic step toward tearing down the wall of terror that has stood between [Turkish and Kurdish peoples’] 1,000-year-old brotherhood,” Erdoğan said on Friday.

The dramatic changes in Syria also play a role

But the changing political and security landscape in next-door Syria may also be key to the group’s decision, according to Caroline Rose, a senior fellow at the News Lines Institute, a foreign policy-focused think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C.

“The events over the last three months, particularly security reform between the SDF and the new Syrian Army,” says Rose, “is one of the primary reasons why we saw the PKK lay down its arms and announce a ceasefire with Turkey.”

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces — which has historically been sympathetic to the PKK, though it denies strong links — may soon be integrated into Syria’s new military forces.

Meanwhile Syria’s new leaders are considering a role for Turkish military forces in efforts to root out ISIS inside their country’s borders, Rose says. But given the distrust of Erdoğan felt by many in northeast Syria, she acknowledged such a move “would, of course, make a lot of Kurdish constituents uncomfortable.”

Kurds historically inhabit parts of modern day Turkey, Iraq, Syria and Iran.

Simple ‘miracle’ addition to sleep routine will help you wake up happy

0

Wake up feeling amazing (Image: Getty)

If you’re waking up feeling groggy and finding mornings a struggle, small tweaks to your sleep routine could help you kick-start the day.

For anyone not feeling rejuvenated after a night’s sleep, minor changes to your daily habits, diet and exercise could make a world of difference.

Dr Deborah Lee, a sleep expert from Doctor Fox, suggests that light exposure, meal timings and easy workouts can significantly impact our sleep quality and duration.

For those who wake up feeling less than refreshed, one addition to your bedside table could help you wake up naturally and regulate your circadian rhythm – your body’s innate 24-hour sleep-wake cycle.

A light therapy lamp, also known as a ‘happy lamp‘, is a device that imitates natural sunlight to enhance mood, increase energy, and regulate sleep patterns.

Lumie

‘Happy lamps’ mimic the natural sunrise to help wake you naturally (Image: Lumie)

These lamps are particularly beneficial during the darker months or for anyone suffering from seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Also known as SAD lamps or sunrise lamps they work by mimicking natural sunlight, which signals your body to suppress melatonin (the sleep hormone) and boost serotonin (the feel-good hormone). This helps regulate your circadian rhythm, making you feel more alert and energized in the morning.

Dr Lee said: “When your eyes see light in the morning, it gives signals to your brain that it’s time to wake up. If you have blackout curtains, then this can be really confusing for the mind. These lamps will wake up with you, so it won’t be such a shock to the eyes when there’s a big bright light next to you.”

So effective are these easy bedside additions, lamps such as the The Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 has been hailed as a “miracle” buy, by shoppers on Amazon.

Expert ways to wake up feeling less groggy

Dr Lee has shared some more tips on how to rise and shine feeling more invigorated.

Never skip breakfast

Dr Lee said: “It might be tempting to simply grab a breakfast bar or pop some bread in the toaster, but a breakfast abundant in both carbohydrates and protein should perk you up swiftly.”

Eggs are an excellent source of protein, whereas something overly sugary first thing in the morning, like certain cereals, can often cause your blood sugar to spike, potentially leaving you feeling more sluggish.

Enjoy some morning exercise

A little exercise in the morning helps to boosts circulation, increases energy levels and enhances mood by releasing endorphins.

“Not many people leap out of bed at the prospect of morning exercise,” agrees Dr Lee, “But, research indicates that a 30-minute workout of moderate intensity can help shake off sleepiness much quicker than without.

“It doesn’t need to be an intense HIIT session; even a brisk walk around the block should help banish those heavy eyelids.”

Eating breakfast

Guard your circadian rhythm

Your circadian rhythm is the pattern your body follows to know when it’s time to sleep and time to wake up. A huge factor in this is routine, and ensuring you’re going to sleep at the same time each night, and waking up at the same time each morning.

The Dr explains: “It isn’t just your sleeping pattern that needs to be kept into routine, but your daily meals, your shower and bath routine and your technology “switch off” time.

“It may be a little harder on a weekend – but if you push through then it will make your Monday wake up a lot easier.”

Coffee

Avoid coffee

This might come as a surprise to many of us, but voiding coffee first thing in the morning can help your body wake up naturally without relying on caffeine.

Your cortisol levels are already high after waking up, and drinking coffee too early may disrupt this natural energy boost and lead to a bigger crash later.

“Naturally when we wake up, the first thing we want to do is grab a coffee to actually wake up properly,” agrees Dr Lee.

“However, you shouldn’t be reaching for the caffeine until at least 45-minutes after you wake up as this is when the caffeine will give you the biggest fix.”

Happy Lamps can be found on Amazon, or picked up in high street stores like John Lewis or B&Q.

The ‘Treat Yo Self’ Budget — How to Splurge Without Feeling Guilty

0

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.

Enjoying life’s pleasures doesn’t have to derail your financial goals. While it’s natural to want nice things, thoughtful spending habits can help you savor small luxuries while staying aligned with your money objectives. The secret to enjoying treats without guilt is allocating a specific portion of your monthly budget for indulgences and respecting those boundaries.

Having a dedicated “pleasure fund” has transformed my view of budgeting. Rather than seeing it as limiting, I now view my spending plan as a tool that empowers me to mindfully enjoy life’s delights. This perspective shift has revolutionized how I think about money. This intentional approach allows me to enjoy special moments while maintaining financial control.

Related: How To Monitor Your Spending Habits

Understanding ‘Treat Yo Self’ — The philosophy behind indulgence

I believe occasional indulgences are essential for emotional well-being and life satisfaction. Studies indicate that planned treats can boost happiness levels when approached mindfully and purposefully.

The psychology of treating yourself

When we reward ourselves thoughtfully, our brains release dopamine — a natural chemical that reinforces positive behaviors. This creates a healthy pattern of effort and reward.

Balancing self-discipline with planned treats leads to greater long-term satisfaction than strict deprivation. Experience shows that setting aside resources for occasional indulgences reduces stress and prevents impulsive overspending.

The key lies in finding harmony between treats and responsibility. Simple pleasures like a soothing bath or a favorite meal can bring as much joy as expensive purchases. By being intentional about how we reward ourselves, we can create sustainable happiness without compromising our financial health.

Remember that treating yourself isn’t about the price tag — it’s about choosing meaningful experiences that align with your values and budget. When we approach indulgences mindfully, they become powerful tools for maintaining motivation and celebrating life’s moments while staying true to our financial goals.

Hedonic adaptation and its effects

I’ve noticed how quickly my mind adjusts to new pleasures through hedonic adaptation. What brings me joy today often becomes mundane tomorrow.

To maintain the special feeling of treats, I make sure to space them out and mix up my indulgences. This approach helps me avoid the “hedonic treadmill” — that endless cycle of needing bigger and pricier rewards to feel satisfied.

Studies show that experiential purchases like attending concerts or enjoying spa treatments create more enduring happiness compared to buying physical goods.

I find that simple joys like reading in nature or experimenting with new recipes can be meaningful rewards that resist becoming ordinary.

Strategic budgeting for guilt-free splurges

Thoughtful budgeting allows you to enjoy treats while staying aligned with your financial goals. Success comes from designating specific funds and planning ahead for purchases that spark joy. I suggest opening a dedicated savings account just for special purchases. Regular contributions help make indulgences feel guilt-free.

Begin with a realistic monthly amount — even $20-50 can accumulate nicely. Setting up automatic transfers on payday helps maintain consistency.

Monitor your fund with these simple steps:

  • Define clear savings targets

  • List upcoming planned treats

  • Keep track of money going in and out

A dedicated treat fund gives you permission to spend on yourself while protecting your main budget.

Incorporating splurges into your budget

I’ve found that zero-based budgeting works wonderfully for managing treats. This means assigning a purpose to every dollar, including fun money.

Organize your treat budget into these categories:

  • Monthly pleasures (coffee, entertainment)

  • Mid-size purchases (wardrobe, hobbies)

  • Major treats (travel, electronics)

Keep treats within 5-10% of your take-home pay to maintain a healthy financial balance. Plan bigger treats well in advance. I prefer saving gradually instead of using credit cards.

Ideas for responsible splurging

I’ve learned that spending wisely on meaningful purchases doesn’t require excessive spending. The key is focusing on experiences and items that provide lasting satisfaction rather than momentary pleasure.

Experience the joy of a spa day at home:

Creating a relaxing spa environment at home helps me save money while achieving genuine relaxation. My bathroom becomes a sanctuary with calming activities that fit my budget.

Here’s what my home spa ritual includes:

  • Luxurious bath with Epsom salts

  • Natural face masks using kitchen staples

  • Soothing background music and flameless candles

  • Comfortable robe and slippers

  • Hot herbal tea in my cherished mug

Setting the right atmosphere is crucial. I lower the lights, silence my phone and dedicate at least an hour to complete relaxation.

Engaging in low-cost leisure activities:

I’ve found numerous free or inexpensive activities that feel special. Reading brings me immense pleasure — I borrow books from the library and create an inviting reading corner with soft blankets and cushions.

Finding treasures in thrift stores:

Thrift shopping allows me to discover unique items at incredible prices. I approach it like a treasure hunt with a modest budget.

Tips for successful thrifting:

  • Shop at stores in affluent areas

  • Look for premium brands

  • Check items thoroughly for wear

  • Visit during weekday mornings for the best selection

I maintain a wishlist and visit stores regularly. This patient approach helps me find quality items at significant discounts.

Safeguards to prevent financial overindulgence

A robust emergency fund serves as my financial safety net against overspending. I make it a priority to set aside 3-6 months of essential living expenses in an easily accessible savings account.

Building financial stability begins with saving money before considering any indulgences. This way, when unexpected expenses arise, I won’t need to tap into my discretionary spending budget or rely on credit cards.

I maintain my emergency savings in a dedicated account, separate from my day-to-day spending money. This separation helps prevent accidentally dipping into these crucial funds for non-emergency purposes.

Related: How To Save Money: 10 Tips to Build Your Savings

Setting limits to your ‘Treat Yo Self’ expenditures

I establish clear monthly spending limits for personal treats. I typically allocate 5-10% of my take-home pay after covering essential expenses and savings goals.

For larger treats over $100, I implement a 48-hour waiting period before purchasing. This cooling-off period helps me avoid impulsive buys I might later regret.

My treat budget remains separate from regular expenses. Once it’s depleted for the month, I stop — no borrowing from other categories or future allowances.

Disney’s ‘Stitch’ poised to become 2025’s most popular toy: sources

0

Stitch, the blue, pointy-eared, pug-like creature from Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” franchise, is shaping up to be this year’s most popular toy – and it will be hard to ignore at Toy Fair this weekend, The Post has learned.

The largest toy trade show in North America kicks off on March 1 at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. Hundreds of toy makers will be displaying their big bets for the upcoming season, including ZipString and anything having to do with dinosaurs and dragons, insiders said.

But to a remarkable degree this year, they’ll also be showing off their Stitch merch. The assortments will only grow in the coming months ahead of Disney’s Memorial Day release of a live-action/CGI remake of the original “Lilo & Stitch” movie from 2002, according to industry experts.

“Stitch is popping up all over the place in everything from collectible phone and gaming controller holders and slime,” said Toy Book editor-in-chief James Zahn. “Expect to see Stitch and friends all over the Javits Center.”

Momentum around the yipping, grimacing character has been building on social media over the past several months, including 2.7 million likes on TikTok for the movie trailer.

The buzz around Stitch was capped off with a viral, 30-second ad during the Super Bowl. The mischievous creature appeals to teens and tweens who are scooping up backpacks, water bottles and even bed sheets with its image, according to toy consultant Chris Byrne.

At least one Stitch item won Toy Book’s “Product of the Year” award in January, a $76 electronic “Disney Stitch Puppetronic” by RealFX.

Other hot items include ZipString, that makes a loop of string appear to float in the air, which was launched two years ago and got a “Shark Tank” investment.

It sold its 1 millionth unit by the end of the holiday season and is poised to announce new iterations of the product, sources tell The Post.

ZipString was introduced in 2023 and got a Shark Tank investment. Zipstring

An FAO Schwarz rep at the Rockefeller Center store said ZipStrings were selling out “like crazy” over the holidays and were hard to keep in stock. Its popularity has inspired dozens of knockoffs from China, the rep said.

Byrne compared the demand for ZipString to the fidget spinner craze in 2017. Even though it’s been out for a while it’s “become a craze,” he added.  Good Housekeeping named it “toy of the year,” in December 2024.

Another “toy to watch,” according to Zahn, is Loops Labs, a digital stage that comes with figurines of drummers, guitarists and vocalists that create and mix music. Loops Lab is app based, but screen-free and comes out of Tel Aviv.

It made its debut at the Nuremberg International Toy Fair in January and will be introduced in the US at Toy Fair on Saturday. It retails for $120 but is not available for purchase until later this year.

The latest ZipString glows in the dark. Zipstring

Elsewhere, dinosaurs and dragons are having a moment fueled by the upcoming movies How to Train your Dragon and Jurassic World Rebirth out this summer.

Mattel and Spin Master are expected to unveil “some incredible products” inspired by those franchises this weekend, Zahn added.

Andrew Cuomo, the biggest liar in New York, wants to be mayor

0

Step right up ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and lay your eyes on the rarest and most dangerous of creatures: New York’s Biggest Liar.

Hailing from the wilds of Albany, this is a conniving colossus of canards, a freak of fabrication, a behemoth of balderdash. We call it Andrew Cuomo.

Careful, madam, careful! Don’t get too close to the bars, he’ll grope you.

Like his relatives in the genus chamaeleo, the Cuomo’s ability to change its appearance will astound you. Here he pretends to be a moderate Democrat, an animal thought to be extinct.

But put him in a room with others of its kind, and suddenly his shape shifts.

He once promised to let New Yorkers profit from fracking, but boom, he turned green, banned it, then madly shut down the Indian Point nuclear power plant, driving up electricity costs for everyone.

One of the Cuomo’s most memorable charades was when he pretended to be the Hero of Covid. He built paper mache mountains, pontificated about the science, then sent scores of elderly parents to die in nursing homes, where the virus ran wild.

Sir! Don’t be fooled! He will try to claim the federal government told him to do it. More of his lies! Congress actually suggested he be criminally charged. Yes, for perjury!

He was also the governor who didn’t have a problem with people marching maskless and looting stores at the height of Covid — but said that you couldn’t go to a bar unless you ordered a sandwich.

Hey, he’s a liar — the lies don’t always need to make sense.

Young lady, please, best keep your distance. He’s been known to forcibly kiss.

Oh, he’ll tell you that part was all a witch hunt, suggesting that he’s allowed to fondle women because he’s Italian. Yes, fine gentleman in the back, he did say that!

But know that an eight-month investigation by the Assembly found “overwhelming evidence” he sexually harassed women.

The Attorney General found the same. Legislators also noted that he abused his power to make his staff help with a book he was paid $5 million to “write.” Wicked, tricksy and false!

Now good people, get ready. For the World’s Biggest Liar is planning his most grand con yet.

He aims to fool the voters of New York City that he should be their mayor, that he’s the most sensible, middle-of-the-road candidate there is.

Needless to say, don’t believe him.

Who! we ask. Who signed the justice “reforms” that means you can’t lock up criminals? Who changed the discovery laws, so more cases are thrown out?

Who is the reason the clerk at Duane Reade needs to unlock the toothpaste for you?

We are pointing to him now! Why he is no less than the man who stands before you, Raggedy Andy, the fabulist, the misleader, the maligner.

He has cost you money, made your city less safe, bungled a historic pandemic and, we hear, steals lollipops from babies.

People of Gotham, he’s caged now, but don’t let him out. Ignore his delusions, dodge his hugs. You have seen his true colors. We can’t let his lies hurt us again.

Here’s how much an investor would need to spend on Legal & General shares to target a £1,000 passive income

0

One common way of trying to earn passive income is buying shares in proven blue-chip companies that pay dividends.

Indeed I do that myself. I own a number of dividend shares. Some, such as Legal & General (LSE: LGEN) are popular with quite a lot of private investors looking to earn some extra money without working for it.

The beauty of this passive income idea is its simplicity

So, how does this work in practice?

I bought the Legal & General shares and now sit back and earn dividends whenever they are paid. It really is that simple!

In under a fortnight (on 12 March), Legal & General will unveil its final results for 2024. Part of that will be announcing its dividend. In fact though, it has already announced plans to grow its dividend per share annually at 5% for 2024.

If it does that, then the annual dividend will be around 21.4p. So, to target a £1,000 annual passive income, an investor would need to own roughly 4,673 Legal & General shares. At the current price, that would set them back around £11,355.

It is important that an investor does not put all their eggs in one basket, of course, so my example here presumes that Legal & General is just one element of a diversified portfolio.

What could go wrong?

That passive income is not guaranteed though. No dividend ever is.

Legal & General has set out a plan to grow the dividend by 2% annually from next year onwards. That is only a plan though: what happens in practice will depend on how the business performs.

The FTSE 100 firm has a good track record and its strong brand, large customer base and long history are all competitive advantages. But it did cut its dividend per share during the 2008 financial crisis. If another market crash happens, plummeting asset values could hurt profits at the business, threatening the dividend.

Even without that, as we hav seen, the firm plans to cut its annual dividend per share growth from 5% to 2% from this year onwards.

That 2% growth is still growth, of course. If it is delivered, an investor who bought 4,673 of the shares now could see their annual passive income grow above £1,000 as 2025 gives way to 2026.

But the cut reflects the fact Legal & General faces multiple challenges.

It operates in a highly competitive market. Its earnings over the past several years have been weaker than before. The recently agreed sale of a US business will raise cash but will reduce the size of its business, making it harder to sustain profits at current levels.

I’m invested in this high-yield share

That helps explain why the Legal & General share price is 7% lower than five years ago.

A falling share price could mean an investor loses money if they sell their shares for less than they paid for them.

But with a dividend yield of 8.5%, it is easy to understand why a lot of investors like the passive income opportunities offered by owning Legal & General shares. I am one of them and own some myself.

Hernández: Lakers find an identity, forged by a true leader in JJ Redick

0

The Lakers have found their leader.

After Mike Brown and Mike D’Antonio, after Byron Scott and Luke Walton, after Frank Vogel and Darvin Ham, they have found their leader.

The revolving door to the coach’s office has finally stopped. JJ Redick is what the Lakers hoped he would be, and maybe even more.

The Lakers improved to 37-21 on Friday night with a 106-102 victory over the Clippers at Imaginary-Money-dot-com Arena, but this isn’t just about their record.

They’re in fourth place in the Western Conference and are positioned to move into second before the end of the regular season, but this isn’t just about their place in the standings.

This is about how they play. This is about culture.

The players are buying what their rookie coach is selling, and, suddenly, the Lakers are playing better defense than any team in the NBA.

Who would have imagined, the Lakers holding their last six opponents to 102 or fewer points in the wake of parting ways with their two best defenders in the Luka Doncic trade.

“That’s just us,” LeBron James said. “I mean, it’s who we are at this point.”

Redick has jolted the Lakers the way Sean McVay did the Rams. Redick has made the Lakers a reflection of his personality the way Jim Harbaugh did with the Chargers.

Almost 60 games into Redick’s first season, the Lakers know who they are, and how often has that been said about them in the post-Phil Jackson years?

There was no guarantee Redick would be any different from Ham or Walton, the two other rookie coaches the Lakers hired in recent years.

Redick’s appointment invited skepticism, and rightly so. Redick wasn’t Dan Hurley, whom the Lakers wanted to hire. Redick had no coaching or management experience above the youth level. He was smug in a way that frauds often are, and he was stuck with basically the same roster that sank Ham. He looked like a Hail Mary.

Well, the Lakers’ prayers were answered, as the pretty-boy coach introduced a hard-nosed, switch-heavy style to a franchise associated with Showtime.

“Defensively is where we hang our hat,” James said. “It’s going to give us a chance to win every night.”

The victory over the Clippers marked a four-day stretch in which the Lakers played three games, each of them a victory. They went into their game against the Clippers without Rui Hachimura, who was sidelined with a knee problem, and emerged from the contest without Austin Reaves, who went down with a calf injury.

The win capped a 10-2 month for the Lakers.

“It’s a tough game to play and to win,” Doncic said. “I think we showed our character today.”

Reaves and Hachimura could be out of the starting lineup for a couple of weeks, perhaps longer, but the win demonstrated how they could survive without them.

“Our group, they competed, they found a way,” Redick said. “It was a rock fight out there.”

Lakers guard Luka Doncic scores in the lane during the second half Friday night in the win over the Clippers.

(Allen J. Schaben / Los Angeles Times)

The Lakers have the league’s highest-rated defense over the last six weeks or so, and they once again suffocated their opponents on Friday night. Their bench was credited with nine of their 14 steals, including four by Gabe Vincent and three by Jordan Goodwin, who is on a two-way contract.

“It takes a while for a group to develop an identity, takes a while for a group to develop a collective mentality,” Redick said. “There’s been a lot of things that have happened this season. I felt like the group, our ecosystem, was created, and it’s been sustained since mid-January.”

He was particularly pleased with how his players continued to stick with the game plan, which was to slow down James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. Guard Kris Dunn burned them for 14 points in the first half, but the Lakers didn’t waver. Dunn, who made six of seven shots before halftime, eventually slowed down. Harden finished with 18 points on five-for-22 shooting, including one of 10 on threes.

“I like who we are as a team right now,” Redick said.

He’s not alone.

Late in the third quarter, one particular play by the Lakers drew a standing ovation, and it wasn’t a dunk by James or a three by Doncic.

On the sequence in question, Jarred Vanderbilt poked the ball away from Harden and threw himself on the court to recover it.

This is the latest incarnation of Lakers basketball. This is JJ Redick basketball, and it will be around for the foreseeable future.

Cooking Tips for Juicy Air Fryer Chicken

Let’s make the BEST juicy and tender air fryer chicken breasts! The air fryer can work wonders, so here are my tips for making this recipe a success!

  • Perfect crisp on the outside! Olive oil is essential in helping the outside of the chicken get crispy while it air frys. It also ensures the delicious seasonings adhere to the breasts.
  • Avoid overcrowding! Make sure you leave room between the chicken breasts so they can cook evenly. Cook in batches if you need.
  • Check for doneness! Check the temperature with an instant-read thermometer earlier than you think. You don’t want to overcook the chicken. Appliances can vary so go by the temperature of your chicken to ensure it’s done. Once it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit, take it out.
  • Let it rest! Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before cutting into it. This allows the juices to reabsorb into the chicken instead of spilling onto your plate.

Flavor & Moisture Boosters

You can use this air fryer chicken recipe for all sorts of dishes. Whenever a recipe calls for cooked chicken, this is my go-to!

  • Mix it up! Depending on your menu, you can use Mexican spices, BBQ spices, sauce, Indian spices, etc. Whatever your menu calls for, this is a quick, delicious way to cook your chicken.
  • Lock in Moisture! Want to make sure your chicken is super moist and tender? Try marinating or brining your chicken for even greater juiciness and flavor.
