Who knew a show like The Traitors would catch fire like it has? Viewers have made it an Emmy Award-winning series that has intrigue and drama. Season 3 was highly anticipated, but fans were bummed to hear that Tom Sandoval would be joining the cast. After such a successful Season 2, followers didn’t want Scandoval drama seeping into their beloved Scottish castle. However, Tom has done quite well and, in fact, might just be winning some fans back from the dark side.
Tom Sandoval is the court jester
Most of the time, I have no idea what is going on inside the mind of Tom. I question whether Tom is putting on an act or if he is this clueless when it comes to his surroundings. But I also find myself laughing so hard I almost wet my pants. For some reason, Tom is funny on The Traitors, and I want to see more of him. Now, I am not a Tom fan by any means, but I am starting to appreciate him. He’s not exactly like a fine wine, but maybe more escargot. But what I love even more is that Tom seems to be in on the joke.
This last episode gave the players the challenge of reciting a nursery rhyme backward. And let me tell you, Tom did not disappoint. While holding his head in an attempt to find the pitch, he essentially debuted his lullaby album. While the Bravo star truly felt he was hitting all the high notes, cast member Sam Asghari prayed for “anyone but Tom.” The musical passion of Tom left me gasping for air due to laughter and explained why his Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras concerts usually are empty.
Tom Sandoval is giving us a rivalry for the ages
Now, any Bravo fan knows that if there is one woman you don’t want to mess with, it’s Dolores Catania. But bless Tom for really thinking he could take the Real Housewives of New Jersey star down. For a few days, Tom had been trying his best to flush out a traitor. At some point, he came to the conclusion that Dolores might just be one and started throwing her name around the castle. As Tom stuttered after being called out Dolores refused to take it easy on him. “No. I don’t want you to be nervous to say this because I don’t think any of it will make sense. So I’m okay with it,” she quips. Needless to say, the Bravoleb was unimpressed.
Fans needed Paterson Dolo to come through and annihilate Tom. The roundtable assassin effortlessly shut him down. Again, what made Tom so fun to watch at this moment was his lack of critical thinking. In The Traitors, you have literally the best strategic minds in competition showing history obliterating one another. And then you have Tom skulking around, making up theories in his head. Honestly, the guy is just happy to be back on a popular TV show and not a villain.
Tom Sandoval still has major legal issues
What I appreciate about Tom is he knows his mission. He isn’t afraid to post funny memes about himself as long as he gets the views. It became quite obvious that Tom’s only goal in The Traitors was to prove that he was worthy of the series and his role as a Faithful. The Bravo star has embraced his emo side and for the most part, the nostalgia of flinging back your overgrown mushroom haircut is working on fans. But Tom still has a long way to go.
In case anyone has forgotten, Rachel Leviss has sued Tom for invasion of privacy, alleging that he recorded her without her consent while she masturbated for him over FaceTime. In her lawsuit, Rachel claimed she was “a victim of the predatory and dishonest behavior of an older man who recorded sexually explicit videos of her without her knowledge or consent, which were then distributed, disseminated and discussed publicly by a scorned woman (Ariana Madix) seeking vengeance.” Tom has chosen to represent himself.
The Traitors is available to stream on Peacock.
