Cillian Murphy’s A Quiet Place 3 Return Revealed In New Set Images

Brand-new set photos have revealed Cillian Murphy’s return as Emmett in A Quiet Place Part III.

Murphy joined the horror franchise in A Quiet Place Part II. His character, Emmett, lived in a bunker and crossed paths with the Abbott family when they were seeking shelter. He ended up helping them with their goal. It was reported back in March that Murphy would be returning for the threequel alongside Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.

Production on A Quiet Place Part III began in May, with most of the main cast members returning to the set over the past couple of months. Now Just Jared has shared set photos of Murphy back in character as Emmett.

The scenes, filmed in New York City, reveal Murphy wearing a blue jacket over a white T-shirt while walking down a street and holding a gun in his right hand.

Some of the photos show filmmaker John Krasinski standing next to the actor, giving him directions for the scene while wearing a headset and holding a megaphone.

Krasinski directed and co-wrote the first A Quiet Place film. The 2018 flick grossed $340.9 million at the box office and received a nearly perfect score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

During awards season, it earned nominations at the Oscars, Golden Globes and BAFTAs, and won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (Blunt) at the SAG Awards and Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.

Aside from directing, Krasinski also starred in A Quiet Place as Lee Abbott, who, with his wife and kids, attempted to survive a post-apocalyptic environment by being as quiet as possible. Any noticeable sound would catch the attention of the terrifying (but blind) aliens.

The Office alum stepped behind the camera again for 2021’s A Quiet Place Part II, which was also well-received by critics (with a 91% Rotten Tomatoes score) and grossed $297.3 million.

Three years later, the franchise took a detour with the spinoff film A Quiet Place: Day One, which saw Michael Sarnoski take over directing and screenwriting duties for a story about how the alien invasion began.

Lupita Nyong’o landed an NAACP Image Award nomination for her performance as Samira in the prequel, which grossed $261.9 million and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an 86% score.

Now Krasinski is back in the director’s chair for the final installment in the main trilogy, A Quiet Place Part III. Along with Blunt, Simmonds, Jupe and Murphy, the film will also star Katy O’Brian, Jack O’Connell and Jason Clarke.

Aside from directing the upcoming film, Krasinski also starred in Jack Ryan: Ghost War in 2026, reprising his role from the Prime Video series Jack Ryan. Murphy, meanwhile, returned to the role of Thomas Shelby in this year’s Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

A Quiet Place Part III will be released in theaters on Friday, July 30, 2027.
