When the King and Queen are in town, even the most private people come out of hibernation. That is the case with Caroline Kennedy, who was spotted at a recent New York City event hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The former American Ambassador was on hand for the King’s Trust partnership with Greater Together, which occurred on Wednesday. The event showcased the UK’s cultural impact on The Big Apple through the arts, sports and community initiatives.
Caroline appears with the royals after the death of daughter Tatiana Schlossberg
While her family name always seems to draw attention, Caroline has tried to avoid the spotlight as much as possible. The King and Queen’s visit was one of the rare exceptions she has made in recent times. The publication Town & Country reported that the daughter of late President John F. Kennedy was on the guest list for Wednesday’s event.
Caroline has been coping with a tragic personal loss, which has made her life even more private than it already is. In December, Tatiana Schlossberg, her daughter, died of leukemia at the age of 35. She was a renowned environmental journalist who had two kids with her husband, George Moran.
The royal family and the Kennedys have had a deep connection for years. Jack and Tatiana Schlossberg previously accompanied Caroline to Boston in 2022. Prince William had selected the Massachusetts capital as host of the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony. Those awards were inspired by JFK’s goal of landing someone on the moon years ago.
When she and her family met the future King, Caroline was serving as an Ambassador to Australia under President Joe Biden. She and her kids gave the Prince a tour of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
