First Look at ‘Fallout’ Season 3 Reveals Return of Fan-Favorite Character

The second season of Fallout, Prime Video’s adaptation of the popular post-apocalyptic video game series, ended with our main characters on the precipice of new adventures. Lucy (Ella Purnell) has a decisive confrontation with her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), the Brotherhood of Steel is about to upgrade its weaponry, and the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) is headed to Colorado to look for his missing wife and daughter.

We pick up with the Ghoul today. Goggins was spotted filming scenes for Fallout Season 3 in Pomona, CA, which had been redressed to look like it’s part of the Wasteland. Goggins was shooting at the Fox Theater, which had been made over as the “Salt Lake Sinema.” The theater is playing a film called Passion of a Mutant, or was before it was nuked.

When we last left the Ghoul, he was in New Vegas, a city built on the ruins of what used to be Las Vegas, NV. Again, we know he’s headed for Colorado, and in these images it looks like he’s in Salt Lake City, UT. That makes perfect sense, since Salt Lake City lies directly between Nevada and Colorado. The Ghoul may stop there on his quest, by choice or otherwise.

There are other fun images and videos of Goggins floating around on social media. In one, he rips off his elaborate face prosthetic in front of a crowd of cheering onlookers. “Thank you all so much for letting us film in your city and for coming out to say hello,” he says.

Prime Video has not yet set a release date for Fallout Season 3, but so far, it’s put out new episodes of the show every year since the first season dropped all at once in Apr. 2024. The second season started airing in Dec. 2025, and this time episodes came out at a rate of one per week, so the finale didn’t arrive until Feb. 3, 2026. With filming on Season 3 underway, the odds are good that we’ll see more new episodes sometime in 2027. Episodes will once again be released weekly.

As of this writing, Fallout is one of the most-watched shows of 2026. That said, the second season didn’t make as big a splash on social media as the first one did, so Prime Video is getting some mixed signals. Regardless, the producers are planning around five or six seasons of the show before it wraps up. Expect to see new characters played by Manny Jacinto and Aaron Paul in Season 3.
