The aftermath of that steamy AJ/Davis kiss will forever remain a mystery: Hulu has canceled Mindy Kaling’s “Not Suitable for Work” after just one season, TVLine has confirmed.
“Not Suitable for Work” followed five work-obsessed twentysomethings striving for professional success (and if they have time, personal happiness) in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill. The series starred Ella Hunt (“Dickinson”), Avantika (“Mean Girls”), Will Angus (“Pitch Meeting”), Jack Martin (“La Brea”), and Nicholas Duvernay (“Bel-Air”).
Recurring guests during the show’s first (and now only) season included Victor Garber, Greg Germann, Judy Gold, Ego Nwodim, Harry Richardson, Constance Wu, Laura Bell Bundy, May Hong, Bhavesh Patel, Emilia Suárez, and Michael Benjamin Washington.
Kaling created “Not Suitable for Work” and executive-produced alongside showrunner Charlie Grandy (“The Sex Lives of College Girls”).
“Not Suitable For Work” earned an average grade of “B-” from TVLine readers when it premiered in June. News of its cancellation was originally reported by Variety.
