KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale: 15% Off Economy & Premium Economy Awards

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer has brought back its Global Redemption Sale, this time with 15% off Saver-level economy and premium economy awards on Singapore Airlines, and 10% off Saver awards on Scoot.

Awards must be booked by September 20, 2026, for travel between November 1, 2026 and May 31, 2027. That’s a seven-month travel window, the longest this sale has offered.

It’s also the sixth edition of the sale and the smallest discount so far. Earlier rounds offered 20% or 25%, so I’d read this one as a modest trim rather than a headline deal, with two things going for it in the long window and Scoot’s first appearance.

The Details

The key terms are below.

  • Discount: 15% off economy and premium economy Saver awards on Singapore Airlines, and 10% off Saver awards on Scoot
  • Booking window: September 8–20, 2026
  • Travel window: November 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027
  • Cabins: Economy and premium economy only, with no business class, first class, or Suites this time
  • General blackout dates: December 1, 2026 – January 10, 2027 for Europe, the USA, and premium economy; November 19, 2026 – January 10, 2027 for Australia; November 1, 2026 – January 10, 2027 and May 13–31, 2027 for Asia and the Middle East
  • Route-specific blackout dates: Additional dates apply on most routes, clustered around Lunar New Year, March school holidays, and Easter
  • Changes and cancellations: Not permitted, whether the ticket is unused or partly used

The discount applies to Saver-level awards only, so Advantage awards are excluded, and it only covers flights operated by Singapore Airlines or Scoot. Partner bookings through programs like Aeroplan don’t qualify, and you can’t waitlist for a discounted seat.

One-way and round-trip awards both work, but stopovers aren’t allowed, and on a round trip both sectors need to be on the listed flight numbers. Taxes and fees are charged on top and aren’t discounted.

No registration is needed. Search on singaporeair.com or in the SingaporeAir app with your KrisFlyer miles, and eligible flights show up under the Promo column, with the discount reflected in the booking summary. Scoot awards are booked through flyscoot.com or the Scoot app.

Key Routes and Discounted Pricing

The economy list covers most of the Singapore Airlines network, while premium economy is limited to four flights between Singapore and the USA. All prices below are one-way per person, after the discount.

North America and Fifth Freedoms

For Canadian readers, the routes that matter are the US gateways and the two fifth-freedom flights, since Singapore Airlines doesn’t fly to Canada.

Route Regular Saver Sale Price
Singapore (SIN) – Los Angeles (LAX) / San Francisco (SFO) / Seattle (SEA) 44,000 miles 37,400 miles
Frankfurt (FRA) – New York (JFK), SQ25 and SQ26 27,500 miles 23,375 miles
Tokyo (NRT) – Los Angeles (LAX), SQ11 and SQ12 42,500 miles 36,125 miles

Seattle (SEA) is the cleanest option, with no route-specific blackouts in either direction, and it’s a short hop from Vancouver (YVR). Frankfurt (FRA) to New York (JFK) is the cheapest long-haul award on the list and also carries no extra blackouts beyond the general December block, which makes it a useful positioning flight for anyone in Toronto or Montreal heading to Europe.

New York (JFK) to Frankfurt (FRA) in economy prices at 23,375 miles under the Promo column, against 27,500 miles for a regular Saver award.

Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) carry a few extra blackouts, mostly late November on the way out and the second half of May on the way back. The Tokyo (NRT) to Los Angeles flight is blacked out for all of November eastbound, so plan that one for the new year.

Premium Economy to the USA

Premium economy is where the absolute savings are largest, and it’s the part of the sale I’d pay closest attention to.

Route Eligible Flights Regular Saver Sale Price
Singapore (SIN) – San Francisco (SFO) SQ34 out, SQ33 back 79,000 miles 67,150 miles
Singapore (SIN) – New York (JFK / EWR) SQ24 to JFK, SQ21 from Newark (EWR) 84,500 miles 71,825 miles

That’s a saving of 11,850 miles each way to San Francisco (SFO) and 12,675 miles to New York (JFK). Only the flights listed qualify, so the second daily San Francisco service (SQ31 and SQ32) prices at the regular rate. Los Angeles (LAX) was on the premium economy list in March and has been dropped this time.

KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale award search showing Singapore (SIN) to New York (JFK) in premium economy on SQ24 for 71,825 miles under the Promo column
Singapore (SIN) to New York (JFK) in premium economy on SQ24 comes in at 71,825 miles, down from 84,500 miles at the regular Saver level.

New York premium economy has no route-specific blackouts. San Francisco is blacked out for parts of November and from March 28 to May 12, 2027 in both directions.

Europe and the Middle East

Europe economy awards are all priced the same, and the list has grown since March with Rome (FCO) and Madrid (MAD) added.

Route Regular Saver Sale Price
Singapore (SIN) – London (LHR / LGW) / Manchester (MAN) / Paris (CDG) / Amsterdam (AMS) / Brussels (BRU) / Copenhagen (CPH) 44,000 miles 37,400 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Frankfurt (FRA) / Munich (MUC) / Zurich (ZRH) / Rome (FCO) / Milan (MXP) / Barcelona (BCN) / Madrid (MAD) 44,000 miles 37,400 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Istanbul (IST) 32,000 miles 27,200 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Dubai (DXB) / Riyadh (RUH) 32,000 miles 27,200 miles

Most Europe routes are blacked out outbound from late March to mid-April 2027, with returns blocked through much of March, so Easter trips are largely off the table.

Australia

Australia gets a shorter general blackout that starts on November 19 rather than November 1, and the new Western Sydney airport (WSI) appears on the list for the first time.

Route Regular Saver Sale Price
Singapore (SIN) – Perth (PER) / Darwin (DRW) 20,500 miles 17,425 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Sydney (SYD / WSI) / Melbourne (MEL) / Brisbane (BNE) / Adelaide (ADL) / Cairns (CNS) 29,000 miles 24,650 miles

Most Australian routes are blacked out outbound from January 11 to mid-February, which takes out the tail end of the southern summer.

Asia

Short-haul Asia is the deepest part of the list, though the savings in absolute miles are small.

Route Regular Saver Sale Price
Singapore (SIN) – Bali (DPS) / Jakarta (CGK) / Kuala Lumpur (KUL) / Penang (PEN) 8,000 miles 6,800 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Bangkok (BKK) / Phuket (HKT) / Hanoi (HAN) / Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) / Manila (MNL) 13,000 miles 11,050 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Hong Kong (HKG) / Taipei (TPE) / Guangzhou (CAN) 15,500 miles 13,175 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Mumbai (BOM) / New Delhi (DEL) / Bangalore (BLR) / Colombo (CMB) / Malé (MLE) 19,000 miles 16,150 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Beijing (PEK / PKX) / Shanghai (PVG) 20,500 miles 17,425 miles
Singapore (SIN) – Tokyo (HND / NRT) / Osaka (KIX) / Sapporo (CTS) / Seoul (ICN) 25,500 miles 21,675 miles

Asia routes carry the longest general blackout, running from November 1 to January 10 and again from May 13 to 31, plus Lunar New Year dates in February. The full flight-by-flight chart is on the Singapore Airlines website.

Scoot Joins the Sale

For the first time, Scoot is part of the Global Redemption Sale, with 10% off Saver-level KrisFlyer awards on selected flights. Scoot joined the monthly Spontaneous Escapes promotion back in May, so this is the next step in folding the low-cost carrier into KrisFlyer’s sales.

The booking and travel windows match the main sale, and Scoot awards are booked through flyscoot.com or the Scoot app. Scoot’s blackout dates run from November 19, 2026 to January 10, 2027, and again from February 1–14, 2027, with route-specific dates on top. Most routes are open to any flight, though a few, including Bali (DPS) and Kuching (KCH), are limited to specific flight numbers.

The list spans 14 countries and regions, from Malaysia to Greece. Some of the highlights, one-way after the discount, are below.

Destination (from Singapore) Regular Saver Sale Price
Kuala Lumpur (KUL) / Penang (PEN) / Ipoh (IPH) / Langkawi (LGK) 1,500 miles 1,350 miles
Phuket (HKT) / Krabi (KBV) 2,500 miles 2,250 miles
Bali (DPS) / Medan (KNO) / Da Nang (DAD) / Hanoi (HAN) / Vientiane (VTE) 4,500 miles 4,050 miles
Manila (MNL) / Davao (DVO) / Nha Trang (CXR) 6,000 miles 5,400 miles
Hong Kong (HKG) / Taipei (TPE) / Guangzhou (CAN) / Perth (PER) 6,500 miles 5,850 miles
Chennai (MAA) / Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) / Amritsar (ATQ) 8,000 miles 7,200 miles
Chiang Mai (CNX) / Koh Samui (USM) 10,500 miles 9,450 miles
Xi’an (XIY) / Nanjing (NKG) / Hangzhou (HGH) / Wuhan (WUH) and other mainland China cities 12,000 miles 10,800 miles
Sydney (SYD) / Melbourne (MEL) / Osaka (KIX) / Tokyo (HND) 12,500 miles 11,250 miles
Athens (ATH) / Vienna (VIE) 24,000 miles 21,600 miles

The row I’d flag is Perth (PER) at 5,850 miles each way. That’s a five-hour flight for fewer miles than Singapore Airlines is charging to Bali in this sale, and it’s available in both directions. Osaka (KIX) and Tokyo (HND) are outbound from Singapore only, and the Athens (ATH) and Vienna (VIE) flights carry long blackouts, with Vienna to Singapore blocked from mid-December through late April.

Singapore (SIN) to Perth (PER) on Scoot prices at 5,850 miles under Scoot Promo, with three seats left at that rate on this date.

Promo seats are capped per flight, and on the March dates where they’d already gone, the same Perth search jumped to 12,500 miles rather than falling back to the 6,500-mile Saver rate. If your first date doesn’t show the discount, check a day or two either side before giving up.

A 10% discount on a 1,500-mile award saves you 150 miles, so the short-haul rows are mostly for topping up a trip you were already taking. Remember this is a low-cost carrier, so bags, seats, and other add-ons are charged on top of the taxes and fees. The full list is on Scoot’s website.

How to Earn Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles

This is the part that keeps KrisFlyer a niche program for Canadians. No Canadian bank program transfers to KrisFlyer, and that includes American Express Membership Rewards.

The practical route is Marriott Bonvoy, which transfers to KrisFlyer at a 3:1 ratio, with a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points moved. Canadian Membership Rewards points convert to Bonvoy at 1:1.2, so 50,000 points becomes 60,000 Bonvoy points and then 25,000 KrisFlyer miles. Bonvoy transfers can take up to a week, though they often land sooner.

If you hold US credit cards, the field opens up. American Express Membership Rewards (US), Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards, Capital One Miles, and Bilt Rewards all transfer at 1:1. Capital One transfers tend to be instant, and the rest usually post within a day.

There’s also a 50% bonus on Accor Live Limitless conversions to KrisFlyer through September 30, 2026, which turns 2,000 ALL points into 1,500 miles instead of 1,000. The bonus miles post by October 30, after this sale closes, and Canadian Membership Rewards points transfer to ALL at 2:1 anyway, so that path nets 375 miles per 1,000 points at best. It only makes sense if you’ve banked ALL points from hotel stays.

Before moving anything, remember that KrisFlyer now requires at least 1,000 miles in your account just to search for award space, and Saver space on the routes you want should be confirmed before you transfer.

Is This Sale Worth It?

A 15% discount is the weakest this sale has offered, and the trend has only gone one way.

Edition Discount
October 2023 25%
September 2024 25%
March 2025 20%
September 2025 20%
March 2026 20%
September 2026 15%

Against that, the travel window is the longest yet, and the sale sits neatly after the current Spontaneous Escapes round, which covers October travel at 30% off on a short list of routes. The two don’t overlap, so anyone with firm winter or spring plans gets a shot at both.

The absolute savings are largest on the long-haul rows. Premium economy between Singapore (SIN) and New York (JFK / EWR) saves 12,675 miles each way, and economy between Singapore and Europe or the US West Coast saves 6,600. On a 6,800-mile Bali (DPS) award, the saving is 1,200 miles, and a cheap cash fare on a low-cost carrier often beats using miles at all.

The bigger issue is the terms. You’re locking in dates up to eight months out with no changes and no cancellations, which is a lot of commitment for a 15% discount. If your plans have any give in them, the flexibility of a regular Saver award may be worth more than the miles you’d save.

Then there are the blackouts. The holiday season is gone across the board, Lunar New Year is blocked on most Asian routes, and Europe is largely closed around Easter. What’s left is a solid stretch from mid-January to late March and a shorter one from mid-April into May.

For Canadians starting from Amex points, the math doesn’t favour the sale. A one-way economy award from San Francisco (SFO) to Singapore (SIN) costs 65,000 Aeroplan points on the same Singapore Airlines flight, which is 65,000 Membership Rewards points at 1:1. Getting to 37,400 KrisFlyer miles through Bonvoy takes roughly 75,000 Membership Rewards points. The sale is for people who already hold KrisFlyer miles or US card points, not a reason to start transferring.

Conclusion

If you’re sitting on KrisFlyer miles with firm dates between November and May, the premium economy flights to San Francisco (SFO) and New York (JFK) and the Frankfurt (FRA) to New York economy hop are the rows I’d look at first, and Seattle (SEA) is the easiest way in from Vancouver (YVR).

If you’d be transferring from Canada to take part, I’d pass. Aeroplan books the same flights for fewer points and lets you change your mind, and no Canadian program gets you to KrisFlyer efficiently.

The sale closes on September 20, 2026. Singapore Airlines has run this twice a year since 2023, so if this edition doesn’t fit, the next one will likely land in March.
