Welcome back, Below Deck fans! Last week, Alex sank on deck. Captain Kerry is watching him, which is never a good sign this early on. Elsewhere, Fraser encouraged Rainbeau to use her kind words, while Moe played matchmaker for multiple boatmances. He has time for that this week, though, on Below Deck Season 13 Episode 3.
What happened in Below Deck Season 13 Episode 3?
A new charter group boards, and their preferences are … a lot. It’s not an easy week for the interior team or the galley. Things are just as bad on deck. Alex makes even more rookie mistakes, and now, all eyes are on him.
Matt and Kaylee make their boatmance exclusive
Kaylee wants Matt for more than one night, and Rainbeau (correctly) calls James “eye candy.” She hugs James, which Rosa finds gross. No worries, yet. Rosa plans to keep things professional.
Fraser gets the night-after tea from Kaylee. She denies sleeping with Matt. Fraser laughs. He doesn’t believe her.
On deck, Alex and Matt are ready to go, but Jessenia and James are running late. Following Captain Kerry’s orders from last week, Alex finally lays down the law. Afterward, he and Matt swab the deck, and Matt admits he slept with Kaylee. Inside, Kaylee, a lover of second chances with a sordid history of dating toxic men, points to one of the camera screens and jokingly calls Matt her boyfriend.
I have a bad feeling about these two. James does as well. No time for love stories gone wrong, though. A new charter group is coming aboard, and they seem intense.
They have high standards, especially for the galley. Also, their preference sheets are … long AF. “It’s just giving c*nty, and not in a good way,” Fraser sighs, with a side of “a**hole” and a (sarcastic) “true delight.” Moe agrees.
Down below, Matt makes things exclusive with Kaylee. In his confessional, he says he no longer wants to be “a f*ckboy.” But also, Kaylee is the only chick on board he’s into.
The next morning, we learn something new about James. Sorry, Rainbeau and Rosa. He likes a girl named Michelle, like, a lot.
Matt takes the lead on deck

To help, Captain Kerry is taking on a side hustle as his chef’s dishwasher. Moe fist-bumps him, thankful. When his provisions arrive, though, he feels the opposite; several boxes have to be sent back, and amidst the chaos, Moe almost sends the caviar back, too. Fraser saves the day and grabs it, and Moe returns to the galley to prep.
The deck team is prepping too. Alex has zero experience with yacht slides. Captain Kerry gives him some advice, but Alex interrupts. He receives a proper scolding in turn.
The guests arrive, and they are really into AcroYoga. One of them, Jason Remer, co-invented it. Yes, I looked that up; it’s true. Jason starts flying people around on his legs, much to Fraser’s semi-into-it horror.
Speaking of horror, Moe served strawberries on his charcuterie platter, and one guest is allergic. Then their requests start rolling in. One wants something salty, even though Fraser just served them chips. Oh, and some canned fish, too, NOW.
Fraser sighs, “These guests are giving … difficult. It’s giving … who hurt you?”
Outside, Matt takes the lead on the water slide, while Alex takes the lead on laziness. At least that’s what Matt thinks. Instead of leading, Alex chose to go on the guests’ kayaking tour. Matt is still waiting for Alex to prove himself as their bosun.
Rainbeau is adopting an English accent pretty well, but her tablescapes are atrocious. Fraser, aided by an AI bot who seems to be playing the “no, you hang up first” game on his phone, takes over. In her cabin, Rainbeau reminds herself not to take his dismissal personally.
Moe should probably give himself this same pep talk. It’s dinner time.
A charter guest comes for Rosa while Captain Kerry questions Alex’s future on Below Deck

The guests love Fraser’s table, but not a lot else. Fraser, who hates Rainbeau’s new accent, lists their many complaints on the whiteboard. They do like Moe’s King Fish and dessert, though.
Rosa remembers something. Melani requested wine in her cabin for turndown. But Rosa puts it in Carolyn’s cabin instead. So, around 1:15 am, Melani drunkenly wanders into the galley looking for her red liquid sleeping aid, plus her requested bowls of nuts and chips.
Rosa sticks to her guns, but kindly. She thought the wine was meant for Carolyn. She apologizes and offers to make things right. Melani next asks for her snacks.
Rosa tries to understand what kind of nuts and chips she wants, but Melani snaps at her. They already had this conversation, Melani thinks. But no, Melani spoke with Rainbeau, not her, Rosa gently counters. “Okay,” Melani says, and heads back to her cabin.
Rosa brings Melani her nibbles and tells her to sleep well. But in the morning, Melani pulls a let-me-speak-to-your-manager move. First, she watches as Jason flies Fraser around on deck (Fraser loves it). Then, she tells Fraser that Rosa was awful to her.
“Mm, couldn’t give a sh*t,” Fraser sasses in his talking head. He trusts Rosa, not this drunk “witch.” Or her “b*tch,” “turd,” and “a**hole” friends who ask for the moon at breakfast.
Outside, Jessenia loses a jet ski harness to the sea. Alex knows this reflects poorly on him. Sure enough, Captain Kerry is ticked. So ticked that Alex “is in the weeds” now, meaning he might not work out this season.
Below Deck is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
