Gorgeous European island has £79 hotels and is 23C in October | Europe | Travel

The UK is getting colder, but elsewhere in Europe the sun is still shining and a beach holiday is not out of the question. If you are not yet finished with the sun and sand, there is one spot just four and a half hours from the UK where the days are still reaching 23C. Even better, it won’t break the bank.

This spot is the island of Cyprus, located in the Mediterranean Sea. According to research from airport transfer company hoppa, this island is the best of the best when it comes to a sunny autumn holiday. The warmest spot is Nissi Beach, tucked on the south-east coast of the island in the town of Ayia Napa.

It’s a popular party destination, but there’s plenty more to explore than the nightlife. The beach is famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and its tiny offshore island that you can reach by wading through the water.

The island is Nissi, for which the beach is named, and if you climb to the top, you can get gorgeous panoramic views out across the bay.

The beach has Blue Flag accreditation, and plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas for hire, as well as the opportunity to rent jet skis or pedalos if you want a bit more excitement.

One visitor to the beach wrote on TripAdvisor about the experience, saying: “Probably one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus—and for good reason. Crystal-clear water, beautiful soft sand, and that creamy, turquoise texture that makes you feel like you’re in paradise. Add the amazing atmosphere and beautiful people, and you have the perfect beach experience.”

Another said: “Nissi Beach easily has the most amazing water I have ever swum in! Despite being extremely busy, its natural beauty makes it an absolute must-visit.”

Although in the summer the beach can be packed, in the shoulder season, there are fewer crowds, which means you can enjoy the natural beauty without so many other tourists in your patch of paradise.

Even better, according to hoppa, the average cost of a three-star hotel in Ayia Napa is just £79 a night, making it a budget-friendly option for a spot of October sun.
