‘Marshals’ Star Addresses Potential Crossover With Another Taylor Sheridan ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff

Marshals, a Yellowstone spin-off that follows Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) as he protects Montana alongside a specialized group of U.S. Marshals, is officially back for its second season. The Season 2 premiere, “All Hat No Cattle,” resolved some of the cliffhangers from the Season 1 finale, but with a full season ahead of us, anything could happen.

For instance, we know that Jefferson White will appear sometime this season as ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom, the character he played for all five seasons of Yellowstone. And the cast members have ideas about other characters from the Yellowstone universe they’d like to interact with. MovieWeb asked Marshals star Ash Santos (Andrea Cruz) who she’d like to share a scene with, and she didn’t have to think hard about it:

“I would die to have a scene with Beth. I’d love that more than anything. I think the world of Kelly Reilly as an actress. I’ve loved her since she did Pride and Prejudice. And her range as an actor, too—it’s like she can do any accent, any dialect. She can be prim and proper and living in a period drama, and then she can be rugged with, like, messy eyeliner, living in a western. I just really look up to her as an actor, and selfishly, I think Dre and Beth in a scene together would be so good because I know Beth would f*cking hate Dre at first.”

Kelly Reilly plays Beth Dutton on Dutton Ranch, the other Yellowstone sequel show currently on the air. Beth is the older sister of Kayce Dutton, the main character on Marshals, so it makes sense that she might turn up on the show eventually. For the record, Luke Grimes also supports the idea. “[Kelly and I have] texted about it back and forth a lot, talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end,” he said recently.

As for Andrea Cruz, she’s a deputy U.S. Marshal who works with Kayce. In the Season 1 finale, she was considering taking a job in Washington, D.C., but ultimately decides to stay in Montana. We’ll see much more of her on the second season of Marshals. New episodes air Sunday nights on CBS and are available to stream the next day on Paramount+.

The second season of Dutton Ranch is in the works, but we don’t expect to see new episodes until 2027 or early 2028. It’s possible that Kayce and other characters from Marshals could also cross over onto that show.
