Meghan Markle’s Major TV Comeback Could Mean Weeks Away From Harry & Kids

Meghan Markle’s new role on Junior MasterChef Australia will take her to Melbourne for several weeks in 2027. The Duchess of Sussex will appear as a special guest alongside Australian chef Poh Ling Yeow. However, it remains unclear whether Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will join her during filming. The family is currently based in the UK after returning from California earlier this year.

How Meghan Markle’s Australia filming plans could affect the Sussex family

Meghan Markle will travel to Australia to film Junior MasterChef Australia, potentially spending several weeks away from Prince Harry and their children. The Duchess previously appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia in 2026, during the couple’s visit to the country in April.

As per PEOPLE, she will now be appearing as a special guest on Junior MasterChef alongside Australian chef and television presenter Poh Ling Yeow. In her statement, the Duchess revealed that she had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef Australia during her last appearance. Hence, when they approached her to work with young and exciting talent, it was an easy yes for her.

The Suits star delved into her personal life and confessed that she enjoys cooking with her own children. Markle is now excited to collaborate with young children and help them hone their culinary skills in the kitchen.

As per Australian outlet News.com.au, filming is expected to take place in Melbourne. There has been no announcement that Prince Harry or the children will relocate to Australia. However, reports have suggested they could visit Meghan during filming; the family’s travel plans have not been confirmed. This has surfaced amid reports that the Sussexes may not live in the UK for long and may travel to another country with their children. A source shared with The Times: “They might suddenly go: ‘Why don’t we try Canada for a while? Why don’t we try Australia?’ It’s one of the great things about being private individuals.”
