The Real Housewives of New York Season 16 features three returning Housewives from the previous season: Sai De Silva, Jessel Taank, and Erin Lichy. So far, all these ladies have stirred up drama. However, Sai’s actions have landed her in hot water with her RHONY co-stars.
Several cast members, including Carole Radziwill, have objected to Sai’s blunt comments and willingness to put rumors about others on blast. Even Sai’s longtime friend and RHONY newbie, Daisy Toye, feuded with Sai. Meanwhile, Sai doesn’t care what people think or say about her.
Right now, it appears Sai is in danger of losing some friends on the show, because of her actions and personality quirks.
Carole Radziwill accuses Sai De Silva of “destroying reputations”
Carole didn’t enjoy the way Sai interrogated her about being mentioned in the infamous Epstein Files. Sai was determined to find out why Carole was once friends with Ghislaine Maxwell. And after Carole answered all her questions, Sai still wasn’t buying it.
During a girls’ trip to Moskito Island, Sai told Jessel that Erin shared an alleged rumor that Jessel’s hubby, Pavit Randhawa, was gay. In RHONY Season 16 Episode 8, Carole discussed the rumor that Sai brought to light. “I think the rumor that Sai brought up about Pavit was not great. It just, like, hurts Jessel,” Carole told Daisy.
In her confessional, Carole shared her feelings about the influencer. “Sai is complicated in all the ways that are not interesting to me. Screaming, weaponizing, destroying reputations for very little reason. That to me is boring and predictable,” Carole explained.
In addition, Carole was stunned that Jessel was upset with Erin, not Sai. “Sai is the one that made it public. She brought it up in front of Jessel. In front of all of us. So that was a bigger betrayal,” Carole stated in a previous RHONY episode.
Clearly, Carole is not vibing with Sai, and I don’t expect that to change. Ever.
Daisy Toye says Sai “doesn’t have empathy”

During her chat with Carole, Daisy tried to defend Sai. “There is a major soft side to her. You just … you got to get it,” Daisy explained. “She’s not a warm and fuzzy, empathetic person.”
Then, Daisy explained why Sai can sometimes come across as aloof. “Sai could be the most compassionate person. She could also be the coldest person. She didn’t come from a family with empathy,” Daisy stated. The makeup artist added, “She doesn’t have empathy.”
At Erin’s husband Abe Lichy’s Cuban-themed birthday party, Daisy and Sai clashed. First, Sai was angry that Daisy called the lunch that Sai served her “supermarket sushi.” Sai told Daisy’s husband, Eugene Toye, “Your wife is so judgmental. Popcorn Princess is like judging everyone.”
Later, Sai repeatedly yelled Carole’s name to get her attention. As Carole ignored Sai, Daisy stepped in. “Oh, my God! Say, excuse me, Carole,” Daisy exclaimed.
“Shut the f*ck up, Daisy. I’m not your kid,” Sai fired back. “That’s why people don’t like you!” Daisy responded. Yikes!
While Daisy insisted that she was “trying to help” Sai, she came across as condescending. The duo continued to argue, and finally, Sai left the party.
Erin Lichy confronts Sai over the Jessel Taank husband rumor

Erin was shocked when Sai revealed the alleged rumor about Pavit. After all, she told Sai the story years ago and swore her to secrecy. And Sai stayed mum on the subject for years, until she felt attacked by Erin.
Sai heard from RHONY alum Jenna Lyons that Erin was gossiping about Sai’s split from her husband, David Craig. While Jenna didn’t hear the rumor directly from Erin, she heard it from someone whom Erin told. Was sharing the rumor about Pavit on camera the best call? No.
However, Sai was hurt by Erin and wanted Jessel to hear the truth. During the trip to Moskito Island, Sai called her makeup artist in front of Jessel to confirm what Erin said. Later, Erin sat down with Sai.
“You did say things about Jessel. You did say things about my personal marriage and my business to someone,” Sai remarked. “I love you. Sometimes, I feel like I really don’t trust you.”
Later, Erin spoke to Abe about Sai revealing the gossip about Pavit. “I can’t believe the way that, like, she spun it and the way it was delivered,” Erin said. She added that “a lot of people know this rumor, but nobody’s announcing it. And she is, and then blaming it on me.”
I think that Sai is an important part of the RHONY cast. Still, her direct approach and seeming lack of empathy are rubbing her co-stars the wrong way. While Sai may not care what others think, becoming isolated from her friends on the show doesn’t bode well for her RHONY future. Viewers have seen Sai’s softer side, and I hope we see more of that Sai this season.
The Real Housewives of New York airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. It also streams on Peacock.
