New Apple Home accessories are coming thanks to LG

Rumors have shown that Apple is working on various smart home accessories, and it seems that a doorbell, thermostat, and more will be developed with LG as a partner.

An unannounced Apple Home event is expected to take place on October 13 with a new Apple TV, upgraded HomePod mini, and the debut of the long-rumored Apple Home Hub. A new last-minute rumor suggests that additional home accessories could be coming soon to accompany Apple’s new home initiatives.

According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple is working with LG to introduce a smart deadbolt lock, an indoor security camera, an outdoor security camera, and a floodlight camera. These will be branded as LG in spite of Apple’s involvement, similar to how Apple has co-developed iPhone accessories with other companies previously.

For example, the LG UltraFine Display was co-developed between LG and Apple.

It isn’t clear if these devices from LG are the same ones previously rumored to be coming from Apple. Rumors suggested Apple would make its own security camera, doorbell, and similar products.

LG’s products are currently going through regulatory submissions, but those filings do not mention Apple. It could be early 2027 before LG is ready to launch these products, and it isn’t clear when they will be revealed.

The Apple Home announcement is set for October 13. It is expected to reveal multiple products as an attempt to revitalize Apple’s place in the smart home industry.
