Passengers urged to use Ryanair, Jet2, easyjet change at UK airport | UK | News

British tourists are being urged to use one new airport feature that could save time when flying. Across the UK, some airlines are now offering a service where passengers can drop off their luggage the night before they fly. The airport feature allows travellers to then travel to the airport without their bags and cut the queues at luggage drop-off. Birmingham airport has shared updated information on its “twilight check-in” services, reminding people to use the service.

Passengers have been told to refer to the terminal screens on arrival to confirm the check-in desk to use for their airline’s twilight service. Normally, passengers must arrive at their departure airport around two to three hours before their flight, depending on their destination. Usually, queuing at the check-in desks to get boarding passes and drop off luggage can add significant time to the airport experience. But, with this service, passengers can head straight for the departure gate instead.

For anyone looking to use the twilight check-in, passengers will need to confirm if your airport and airline offer the service. Some airlines require all passengers to be present, whereas others just request passports and boarding passes be provided for each passenger. The service is offered at some other UK airports including Heathrow, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Newcastle and Manchester.
