One of the most controversial comedies of modern times is getting a long-awaited sequel. Released more than two decades ago, White Chicks stars Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans
as two FBI agents who must go undercover as two white, female socialites…using “whiteface.” Now, finally, the cinematic gods have heard our endless cries as Marlon Wayans confirms that there are plans in place to bring back Brittany and Tiffany Wilson for White Chicks 2.
Speaking with Good Morning America, Wayans revealed that, following the release of another of the Wayans’ highly anticipated comedy sequels, Scary Movie 6, they will start work on White Chicks 2, with the actor, comedian, writer, and producer saying, “it’s time.”
“[Fans always ask] ‘When are you doing the sequel?’ They love that movie,” he said. “Hey, you know, I think it’s time. Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’ll go and bring out White Chicks 2.”

Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans from a screenplay co-written by the Wayans brothers, Xavier Cook, Andy McElfresh, Michael Anthony Snowden, White Chicks stars Terry Crews, Jaime King, Frankie Faison, Lochlyn Munro, Busy Philipps, and John Heard alongside the Wayans pair and was panned by critics upon release. Standing at just 15% on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning it bears the mark of a big, green splat alongside its title, White Chicks was maligned for being “silly and obvious.”
Marlon Wayans Thinks Comedies Like ‘White Chicks’ Are Needed Now More Than Ever
Audiences were more enamored with the movie, with White Chicks achieving 55% on the Popcornmeter (obviously still not a great score) and earning $113.1 million at the worldwide box office. The buddy cop comedy has since become something of a cult classic, a movie from a forgotten time, with fans hoping that, eventually, a sequel would materialize. Now that the Wayans are back with Scary Movie 6, which is due for release on June 12, 2026, the brothers are eager to bring White Chicks to today’s audience.
The sequel is sure to be just as controversial as the original, with Marlon Wayans having previously said that comedies like White Chicks are “needed” now more than ever. “I think they’re needed. I don’t know what planet we’re on, where you think people don’t need laughter, and that people need to be censored and canceled,” he said back in 2022. “If a joke is gonna get me canceled, thank you for doing me that favor. It’s sad that society is in this place where we can’t laugh anymore. I ain’t listening to this damn generation.”
While comedy and controversy often go hand-in-hand, whether we need that to be demonstrated by another White Chicks movie, which is likely to feature the two actors in digital makeup rather than practical effects, is highly debatable. While no other details regarding White Chicks 2 have yet been revealed, we’re probably pretty safe to assume that original star Busy Philipps won’t be back for more questionable antics.
