Marriott Bonvoy Fall 2026 Global Promotion: Earn Up to 4,500 Bonus Points

Marriott Bonvoy has launched its second global promotion of 2026, and registration opened today. Once registered, you’ll earn 1,500 bonus points on every paid stay of two or more nights between September 22 and November 22, 2026, plus an additional 3,000 bonus points if that stay is at a resort.

That works out to as much as 4,500 bonus points per resort stay, with no cap on how many stays can earn it. What’s missing is any kind of elite night component, which keeps to Marriott’s recent habit of saving the status sweeteners for the spring promotion.

Registration takes a few seconds and there’s no downside to signing up. Whether it’s worth steering a booking toward depends almost entirely on whether you already have a resort trip planned this fall, so let’s walk through the terms and the math.

Marriott is calling this one “More at Resorts” on its own registration link, and the structure is simple. Every eligible paid stay of two or more nights under the same reservation earns 1,500 bonus points, and if the property is a participating resort, another 3,000 bonus points come on top.

The key terms are as follows:

You must register before the stay you want to count, though a stay that straddles the window still qualifies as long as at least one night falls between September 22 and November 22. Only one room per property counts toward each stay, so booking two rooms for the family won’t double the bonus.

Award redemptions of any kind are excluded, including Cash + Points and Free Night Awards, as are bookings made through most online travel agencies. If you want the bonus, book directly with Marriott on a paid rate, or through a channel that books direct on your behalf, such as Marriott STARS and Luminous via Prince Collection.

What Counts as a Resort?

This is where the terms get vague. Marriott’s fine print refers only to “resorts participating in Marriott Bonvoy and this promotion” and doesn’t publish a list alongside the offer.

In practice, the properties Marriott.com labels as resorts are the ones to expect the bonus at. The easiest check is to search your dates on Marriott’s website and tick the “Resort” filter, or to look for “Resort” in the property name itself, as with the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa. If the extra 3,000 points is what tips your decision, it’s worth confirming with the property before you book.

One clear exclusion is Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. A two-night rental earns the 1,500 base bonus, but it never qualifies for the resort bonus, and those points post up to eight weeks after the promotion ends rather than within 10 business days.

The same eight-week lag applies to the resort bonus at hotels, too. The 1,500 points should show up with your stay, but the 3,000 resort points could take until mid-January 2027 to land, so don’t plan an early-winter redemption around them.

We value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.8 cents (CAD) each, so the base bonus is worth about $12 (CAD) per stay and a resort stay comes to about $36 (CAD). Those are small numbers next to a two-night hotel bill, and the fixed structure means the value is proportionally larger on cheap stays than on expensive ones.

A two-night stay at a $150-a-night Courtyard and a two-night stay at a $900-a-night beach resort both earn the same 1,500 base points. The resort’s extra 3,000 points is nice, but it doesn’t come close to closing that gap in percentage terms.

It also helps to see this promotion against the last few, because the direction of travel is clear.

Two things jump out. The base bonus is the lowest of the five at 1,500 points, down from 2,500 in the spring, and the two-night minimum is back for the first time since Fall 2024, which quietly rules out the one-night stays that counted under the spring promotion. More importantly, Marriott has settled into a rhythm where the spring promotion carries Elite Night Credits and the fall promotion is points only, and this one keeps to that pattern. If you were counting on a fall promotion to close the gap to Platinum or Titanium, it isn’t coming from this offer.

What Marriott is doing instead is steering members toward resorts, where the bonus is three times the base offer. For Canadians, that’s not a bad fit. The stay window lines up with the start of the sun-destination season, and a two-night stop at a resort in Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, or Florida in late October or November is exactly the kind of stay where 4,500 points lands without any contortion.

The uncapped structure is the one generous element, but it only matters if you already have several two-night stays booked in the window. Someone doing a run of weekend resort stays this fall could pick up 4,500 points on each of them, which starts to add up.

Keep in mind that the bonus stacks on top of everything you’d normally earn. Paid stays earn 10 points per US dollar at most brands (five at Element, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Protea Hotels, and Homes & Villas), plus an elite bonus of 10% for Silver, 25% for Gold, 50% for Platinum, and 75% for Titanium and Ambassador. Paying with the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card or the business version adds another 5 points per dollar on the whole bill, taxes included.

Both cards are currently offering an elevated welcome bonus of up to 110,000 points, and as it happens, that offer ends September 22, the same day the stay window opens.

A Platinum member paying $800 (USD) for two nights at a resort would earn 8,000 base points, 4,000 in elite bonus, 4,500 from the promotion, and roughly 5,500 more from the card once the bill converts to about $1,100 (CAD), or around 22,000 points for one weekend. The promotion is a fifth of that total, which is a fair way to think about its weight.

Homes & Villas stays deserve one more mention, since the separate double Elite Night Credits promotion is running at the same time. A two-night rental booked by September 30 would earn the 1,500 base bonus here plus double Elite Night Credits there, though not the resort bonus.

A Targeted Offer Worth Checking Your Account For

Separately from the global promotion, Marriott has been sending out a targeted offer over the past few weeks called “More Points Ahead”, and it’s the more lucrative of the two if you have it.

Targeted members earn 4,500 bonus points after their first eligible paid stay and 7,500 bonus points after their second, for a total of 12,000 bonus points, or about $96 (CAD) by our valuation. In my account, the earning window runs through October 31, 2026, though the end date depends on when you registered, since the terms define it as the rest of the registration month plus two more months.

The important difference from the global promotion is that a stay here is one or more consecutive nights, so a single paid night counts. Two one-night stays at a Courtyard would clear the full 12,000 points. Homes & Villas, Marriott Executive Apartments, and third-party bookings are excluded, and as with the global offer, only stays after registration count.

Nothing in either set of terms excludes combining the two, and Marriott’s targeted offers have stacked with its global promotions in the past, so they should stack here as well. A two-night paid resort stay in late September would trigger the global 4,500 and the first targeted tier of 4,500 at once, for 9,000 bonus points on a single booking.

To check whether you’ve been targeted, open the “Promotions” tab in the Marriott Bonvoy app or on the website. Marriott doesn’t explain who gets selected, so if it isn’t there, there’s nothing to do but register for the global offer and move on.

It’s a modest offer and a step down from the spring, with no Elite Night Credits attached. I’ll register, take the points on the stays I was already making, and I wouldn’t manufacture a two-night stay for $12 (CAD) worth of points.

The one case where it’s worth steering a booking is a resort trip you were already planning for October or November. If that describes your fall, book it on a paid rate through Marriott, register first, and check your account for the targeted offer, because 4,500 points, and potentially 9,000, is a real rebate on a stay you were taking anyway.

Register by November 13, 2026, and remember that the resort bonus can take until the new year to post. Marriott isn’t paying you to chase status this fall. It’s paying you to go to the beach.
